I've got a list of new appliances I'm buying for the next house after this place sells. :burp:

I really want the black stainless steel Bosch 800 dishwasher even though it's $1350. :anonymous: I've read so many positive reviews about them.

Currently have an old GE Profile PDW8280N20SS dishwasher that's super quiet and works extremely well. I can't speak positively about the old ge profile microwave and electric range though.

The induction ranges from Bosch and LG are pretty neat too.

Oh, I use lemi-shine additive with cascade dishwasher pods. It seems to take care of most, but not all spots with our Aquasure whole house softener and filtration system.

    Big breakthrough

After multiple cycles and cleaning the DW produced a clean cycle- no soap residue

Seems like quality control is non-existent anymore. Doesn't matter if you buy a $300 range from HD or a $17,000 BlueStar range, there's always an issue. This one shipped out without being converted to LP even though paid extra for it.

My wife now thinks I am nuts. It took way more cycles than I thought to clear the machine. As far as I am concerned those pods might be OK for laundry but for certain dishwashers and ultra soft water they are terrible. That plastic shit goes everywhere and does not just rinse out. I think citric acid makes it worse, frankly. The last few cycles I ran just a little earth friendly soap and that seemed to help.

The new screen is a great idea because that crap really gets caught again and again and more in the fine screen.

Yes from here out. And just barely a teaspoon cleans everything so easy.

My grandfather used liquid dish soap in the dishwasher once at a family cabin. Foamed out the entire kitchen.

Depends on the range. All burners are easy and so is the regulator. The oven ones can be a real PIA to get to. I did an LG last year for a client. The instructions called for taking the door off because it was so far in the back and only accessible from inside the oven cavity. Fucking idiot engineering at it's finest.

Yup, the oven burner one was way in back, that was worst one.

The orifices will be brass. It's non-magnetic. A good trick I use is to put a small piece of painters tape on the head of the orifice. Then slide the socket on. It should be tight and not fall off. Once the orifice is installed you just pull the tape off of it. You do not want to loose them and if you drop one it can be hours looking for it. Ask me how I know. lol

With soft water the washing machine need less detergent as well. Our clothes were coming out of the dryer with a strange, not quite clean, smell. I just assumed it was the smell of the "unscented" laundry liquid. Then one day I saw how much detergent my wife was using . She was filling it to the top of the included measuring cup, "because I want the clothes to be really clean." We now use 1/4" at the bottom of the cup and the clothes are clean and don't smell like un-rinsed laundry. As a side note we somehow ended up with a package of Tide pods and even they were too much soap. In both cases a second rinse fixed the problem.

We received an extra set of "jets" with our stovetop in order to convert it to propane if needed. I have those safely tucked away in the event I need to convert my stovetop.
