The Gladiator looks very strange on stock tires. I'll give you that.

Yeah, the stock Bronco too. Now the Gladiator Mojave is set up perfect IMO as well as a Bronco with the Sasquatch package.

I would never consider a Jeep for a daily vehicle. If I wanted a dedicated off roader, sure maybe I would if there were no older LCs for sale near me, and I had a trailer to tow the Jeep to a trail head, and had another Toyota following me on the trail as a recovery vehicle.

We drove a Wrngler as a rental car last year. Not sure which model it was but that was enough. No way I’d daily a Wrangler. Sloppy steering was damn near dangerous.

The idea of a "Jeep Pickup" is gold, then they name it Gladiator...:bananadead:

Agree, it had appeal when the midsize truck market was pretty much the Tacoma with some piddling offers from Ford and Chevy. But now that Ford, Toyota and Chevy are totally killing it the Gladiator has become firmly lame.

The gladiator is a cool vehicle that fills a small niche market and I hope they don’t discontinue it. I think it’s hard for most buyers to accept the compromises it has. It’s hands down the best midsize for technical crawling. For everything else it sucks. Handling and steering for normal driving is terrible with the SFA, build quality and reliability are poor. Midsize trucks sell because they are versatile. My truck is DD, long distance explorer, camper, toy hauler and trail rig, and at 189,000 it’s still reliable.

20k under MSRP kinda tempting right now with the dealer markup everywhere

Seems like just yesterday people were paying 20k dealer markups when the very first Gladiators hit the lots.

Now there’s endless rows of them b/c most later realized they’re strictly niche vehicles.

Yeah any truck with less then a 6' bed is for a person who doesn't use their truck and probably works in an office doing IT to feel manly.

I use my bed constantly and could easily get by with a 5’ bed.

The 20k under msrp is impossible anyway. That’s if you stack every rebate. Nobody qualifies for it

When I heard about the Gladiator being produced, I was hoping that it was going to be the like the AVE Brute conversions for TJ's. When I saw the 4 door and stupidly short useless bed, I could not have been any less interested. The Brute conversions were cool, basically the TJ became an access cab with a 6' bed.

But the 4 door Tacoma also has a "stupidly short useless bed," Are you as less interested in the Tacoma as well, for the bed length?

The gladiator is selling really poorly now and will most likely be discontinued in a couple years. Rubicons are down to 50k from the low 60s here. Definitely tempting but I’m holding out to see the price on the new taco pro, hope is is still in the low 50s.
