Hey guys, I’m thinking of coming out to the southern part of Co to the Telluride, ouray, Silverton area to do some wheeling in my 18 taco trd sport. It is bone stock except wheels and tires. Anybody on here that lives in this general area willing to meet up with me while I’m there and show me around some trails. I’m really wanting to go through Imogene pass but idk with it being dang near stock. Any input or replies would be extremely grateful. Thanks in advance, drew

Imogene and Ophir pass are easily doable, just some pucker moments. Also, there are a ton of FS roads outside silverton that are fun and end up in old mines. Just don’t camp in the mine waste or drink the water coming of the mine. Also please don’t go in them.

Also, time of year would be helpful. If you are thinking this year, bring a snow machine as it’s about to get impassible

I would be coming out the 10th or 11th of October hoping that the snow holds off but can’t control the weather. I would like to go the whole pass if possible.

if you use a trd or aftermarket skid you get better clearance and protection. Throw your spare in the bed. Stay light

Prob what I would do is take it off and leave it at home. Throw the factory’s on it going out there, it’s a 16 hour drive for me. Put my aftermarket’s in the bed and put them on when I get there and leave my factory’s and jack where I’m staying. This is kinda a spur of the moment trip just to get out of Missouri. So I really don’t have time for getting a new skid. I just hope the snow holds off!

Those few inches can turn into feet in no time. I went boarding in breck one year and it dumped overnight. Lol Well if that’s the case I might have to head out next week! Plus catch the fall foliage out there.

oh ya. When i did blackbear it was 70 at entrance and 40 degrees with a 60 mph wind at the top. Waited 20 minutes for the heavy rain to stop and 10 minutes later it was calm sunny and 70 again. Crazy. I live near Lake placid and it is kind of the same thing. Be prepared when you go up anytime of the year.
