Oh man... that is no fun... I have a buddy with a 2020 F150 that has had a full replacement of one of those 10 spds under warranty and our friend as a head service writer for ford has stated hes seen quite an uptick in full replacements on those transmissions. I +1 a lil fun fast car and an older truck to to the heavy lifting when needed. Been thinking the same as of late even though i love my tacoma.

Give this a try. Move your shifter DOWN ~ 1/2 an inch in relation to the peg. This solved damn near all my false neutrals / non shift shifts I had on my 919 back in the day.

OK thats a cool lil mockup.

We just got updated numbers on the mural grand tour. Y'all, Chuck is a BEAST.

I finished 4th to last with 26, @BkerChuck has a MASSIVE 1012. His next closest competition is 819, then 643. Wild. I did way, 2.5% of what he did? Moral of the story don't challenge him to a contest involving riding

Still was fun and a good excuse to get out and ride for a few days. Also a nice change of pace for why I was riding. You end up looking around every intersection and street going, checking random alley walls, and just taking it all in a lot more. No regrets. Plus I get a tshirt out of it

I rode to my wife's work to pick her up, then we went grocery shopping and then split lanes on the way home. I love that I can carry so much with me on the Versys. It still feels odd that it's so quiet on the highway, though.

Those are a NEAT bike. but I can only imagine $$$ and suuuuuper narrow powerband.

WELCOME! We also have recently created a Motorcycle Photo Game too - https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/motorcycle-photo-game.809851/

Quiet is so nice TBH. Loud pipes dont save lives, and not having to deal with extra noise on the moto IMO makes you more aware of your surroundings. Also noise fatigue is definitely a thing.

Needless to say, Stock exhaust and ear plugs are my jam.

I've just never owned a bike with a stock exhaust! It's weird to me but I think I'm liking it more and more.

I even put the stock exhaust back on the Grom so I am not so disruptive while practicing wheels up and down the street.

If I could only choose one, the Grom is the least expensive leaving money in your pocket for upgrades, and it is arguably the most fun to ride of the bunch. Ideally I’d have one of each though. I guess my actual answer would be that none of the 3 bikes listed would be a bad choice, and I’d be happy with any one of them.

just a couple of things tbh
ya it sucks and thats what ive been hearing about the trans that they keep getting rebuilt or replaced or they get a bandaid over them to try and fix it then it fails within a few thousand miles later... ive lost my trust in this truck... my dad told me to wait and let it get fixed to see if it gets better but atm its not and id rather just ditch it for some fun car like i stated but im adding in a civic si so i can instead of getting a super expenisve fast car i can get a moderalty quick reliable car and as well basically eliminate debt by going to a cheaper car. i did drive this gr rolla today and man oh man! if i could have gotten a good number on trade in i would have went home with it today! such a fun little car and very fast for what it is! the salesman let me absoultly rip on it! and i hit 100mph in 2nd gear! in a short on ramp the thing just pulls hard! but as i said they couldnt get what i wanted on trade in and the math wasnt mathing at all at a 33k trade in on a 39k car and saying id still owe 29k when i have 15k left on my loan? made zero sense to me! so i walked away from it.
besides the ugly graphics (was used as a pace car) the car looks great and feels great! if you all ever get a chance to drive one of these id for sure do it!

Ahhh? because a Corolla is just two motorbikes welded together side by side?

    Just wondering/

That's a pretty impressive feat right there! My first few IBA rides were done during rallies like that with stopping for pictures at bonus locations. That's actually my favorite way to do an Iron Butt ride. It make the ride more like a series of shorter rides just strung together one after the next and for me at least the mental boost of knowing as each leg is completed I'm one step closer to the end goal. Awesome write up with pics too.

Thanks for sharing that over here!

    Thanks Spencer, appreciate the compliment!

I'm glad you had a good time and enjoyed the event. These grand tour rallies are a blast IMO. Reason to ride, cool and interesting stuff to go out and find, months long so plenty of opportunities, and a t-shirt that while you paid the entry fee, you still have to earn in order to receive it. The mural theme just made this event pretty easy for me. I have 3 cities in under one hour distance that each have mural trails with more than 40 murals. Baltimore and Philadelphia are each under 2 hours and I learned Philly has almost 4k murals, Baltimore roughly 300 so if I could deal with the inner city I could clean up. That being said, I didn't do that. Since I got my rally flag I was out every weekend since January 2 with only 3 weekends off from riding. I've already put 17k miles on the FJR this year counting commuting. My biggest worry was the gentleman who finished 3rd with 643. That's Rick Miller, a 2-time Iron Butt Rally finisher and one finish was gold level meaning in the top 20 entrants. Rick was also the rally master for the Mason Dixon 20/20 long distance rally, the first LD rally I competed in. He retired from working a year or two ago and has lots of riding time now if he so chooses. We're friends and I can tell you he got murals in far more states than I did. He rode from MD to OR this year for the Concours Owners Group rally and mural hunted his way back and forth across the US.

I scored murals in PA, MD, DE, OH, VA, and WV

Looking forward to seeing what next year's theme will be.

Nice Chuck that's impressive! I remember saying at one point you were on track for 1000 and you got there easily.

I'm getting inspired I want to do one of these IBA rides

There are some really cool Saddlesore options that have been added to the list. There is a premade "Ride around PA" that's interesting. You must start and finish in a specific location and get dated business receipts proving the route that looks interesting. There are several food oriented rides including ice cream, BBQ, doughnut, and coffee themed rides. Full ride list below.

    https://www.ironbutt.com/themerides/index.html

Let me know if you find one you like, I'm ready and would be stupid, I mean willing enough to ride along if it we can work something out.
