Time and abuse will do that. How much of that is replacing worn out things like tires and suspension? Does that account for the items you've sold to knock against that number? It's a curious thing. I did a mental exercise lately about the changes I'm doing. Do I still get to call the costs of it's previous setup as part of how much I have "invested" in it?

Tires and suspension is part of it, but I've been doing this long enough there have been so many other items on that list that needed replacing at least once, RTTs, fridges, skids. And that does not include the big stuff like re-gearing, dual batteries and various electrical stuff and now supercharging. It all adds up. Honestly, I am hesitant to know exactly how much.

I think the answer to your question is yes. Don't forget the 'cost' of learning. You can't be at the point your at without all that came before.

Oh we have portable toilets delivered for those events, placed discretely at the edge of the property. You really want to avoid as much strange ass on indoor porcelain as possible. For our parties we use, 'Fred Lee's Elite Seats.'

Yeah it makes sense. Over the years we have poured a lot of money into these trucks but it doesn't equate to the value of the parts hung on them now. Lol.

Well... if this shutdown lasts all next week maybe I'll finally have time to investigate my driveline vibration. Oh and wash the truck for the first time since 2021.

My god, I don't know what Dex got into but holy fuuuu.... he's had the most malodorous air biscuits I've smelled yet. Rebecca said he got into Sofia's graham crackers this morning, sounds relatively harmless but fuck me...maybe not

We're barely started on our walk and he's already made two big mud puddles in our poor neighbor's yards. Only so much of that you can pick up with poop bags

This poor dog is like the ones from the memes isn't he? If he doesn't get his boiled chicken and rice he becomes a chocolate soft serve machine complete with broken refrigeration.

I dunno, I've read they have more sensitive stomachs than other breeds which is kind of weird considering they were bred to literally eat whatever they could kill for themselves.

But maybe that's more pointing toward him needing a more raw/less processed diet

You've acquired a dog with the most Californian diet.

Also I know we were talking about Eddie Vedder the other week and this just popped up

I mean, he does love avocados to the point it gave him major tummy troubles earlier this year, in the form of pancreatitis. Damn squirrels dropping them in our yard. I bet if I spread it on toast he'd be all about it

Took my truck on her first long trip, about 300mi. I work from home a lot of the time & have a short commute when I am in office, so I don't put many miles on my daily, which is my now first gen after some shuffling.

The good: Super impressed with gas mileage, my DIY frame repair & shock replacement solved my rear vibration completely, acceleration seems less sticky after cleaning everything related, and really there's a lot more room than I anticipated when it actually came down to it.

The bad: my bench seat is so uncomfortable from my 350lb grandfather driving it forever prior to leaving it with me when he passed on, and my front suspension took an absolute beating on the potholes & road damage. Completely screwed my alignment. Everything is pretty rusty and crappy, probably going to need to replace a lot of components before anybody is going to touch that front suspension for an alignment which requires time I don't have right now. Really need to get some weight in the rear for grip, too.

But, I am extremely impressed with how a base rear-wheel-drive truck manufactured just shy of 23 years ago handled what was asked of it, especially considering the neglect it went through in the last 5~ years with my grandfather's declining health. I did plan to do a suspension overhaul anyways, just don't have the time right now.
