I will be blacking out my grille in a few weeks and need some advice. Base model grille (no chrome)...see picture below.027_662984e43b0a9d570f3d1dd9502e2ab4d31c6b44.jpg

Picked up my plasti dip yesterday and I also have Krylon Fusion paint for plastic.

I have used the krylon paint on my emblems...turned out nice but even with the krylon clear coat they chipped a bit over the winter.

Looking for durability,,,,so what would you use?

    Plasti dip or krylon paint?

Should I sand the plain chromeless grille?

Also will be cleaning up the metal front bumper from minor rust and will paint....leave it flat black or plasti dip?

Thank you in advance for any/all replies!!

I have that same exact truck and i did mine and it looks friggen bad ass. I 100% recommend it, the plastidip I don't know too much about but i here it peels off easily, i used the krylon for plastic and its been perfect for a couple of months now, the only problem i've had is where i did my headlights restoration which was my own sloppy fault.

Sorry..camera is misplaced....the colour is a grey...same as the metal colour on the bumper.

Still debating in my mind... P Dip or Krylon?

Now wondering how PDip will hold out to overspray on my annual rust treament from Krown Rustproofing

I spray painted my grille with the krylon fusion paint a little before this past winter and it did not last very long at all. It looked good for maybe a couple weeks if that then it began chipping like crazy from all the freeway driving I do. I would go with the plastidip on the grille, I just plastidipped my grille this past week and it seems like it will hold up much better. I powerwashed my truck recently with the plastidip on the grille and it help up very well while the krylon fusion paint came off some when I would power wash it over the winter. Also the plastidip is much easier to redo/touch up.
