It's really not difficult to use the truck as a spring compressor.

It's what I did to install the 600# springs initially, and then to install the 650# springs. I'm not sure if you can use the truck to compress 700# springs - you probably can, it just might be a little trickier than with the lighter springs.

    See how the truck handles.

Do you have your sway bar on? If you take it off and have the 600# springs, I think you will get a bit much of body roll. With the 650# (and 700#) springs, body roll is not too bad without the sway bar. (I know, springs and shocks are not for countering body roll - that is another discussion.)

I still have it on, one option ive considered would be to move up a clip on passenger and shim the driver side strut to compensate for the weight.

I would not use a shim - just adjust the clips. That is what they are for.

Using a shim causes your suspension to not be balanced/equal side to side. You may never notice it, but then again, you may have alignment issues - it depends which side of the tolerances your truck was built with.

its already unbalanced to compensate for the tacoma lean its higher on driver vs passenger (due to gas tank)

weight of the truck was able to do 660# springs no problem. I'm guessing with your front bumper and winch 700# wouldn't be an issue using the weight of the truck method.

You have 650# springs? I thought you had 600#.

Yes, I did my 650# on the truck, no problem.

Finally finished up the "wings" on my front bumper design that i based mine off of. May start offering these along with skids and slider frame plates as DIY kits now that steel prices are starting to drop back down.
