NJ has the 10th lowest crime rate in the US. The overwhelming majority of NJ is upper/middle class suburbs and farm land. If we could throw up a wall and keep New Yorkers out we'd probably be in the top 5. Actually make that 2 walls...keep the people from Philly out too.

This isn't Wyoming, it's the most densely populated state in the union. If it were an issue I'd have heard of it happening at least once. Where are you from that you think you know more about NJ than someone who's lived in the state for over 40 years?

So nothing happens in new Jersey without you hearing about it? You should go into the data aggregation business. Companies are looking to know every dimension and every measure of everything that goes on in New Jersey. You could be making a killing.

Why aren't you out solving missing children cases or cold cases if nothing happens in Jersey without you hearing about it. Get to work my dude.

You aren't wrong. I lived in NJ for 20 years and never had a tailgate stolen. However, I didn't own a truck, and most people I knew at the time didn't either. On the other hand I now live in NC where everyone owns a truck, and tailgate theft is commonplace. I had 2 bicycles stolen in NJ (high school and college), but that's common everywhere I'd wager.

I admit, I was really surprised that NC has more crime / 100kp than NJ. Looking at the crime maps though, some of the densest areas of population have the best crime statistics, while it is the rural and beach areas that are some of the worst, well that and anywhere there is a military base. This was completely counter intuitive to me. Looking at NJ, its the same thing. The rural and beach areas are the worst, you just run out of land to offset the populated areas.

Incidentally, I just accidentally backed my truck into a wall while getting it on a 4 post lift. While I had repairs planned, I added a new tailgate and both tail lights to my parts list.
Anyone have a black-sand one that for some reason they lost their truck for? I'll ask no questions. :burnrubber:

People poured into NJ from NY and NYC. Aside from some cities it is true that NJ is very safe. Mainly because gun laws are very strict, you can't even own a BB gun here without license. We are very crowded state too so you can't really commit much crime since there's always people pretty much everywhere.. I must say thought slowly but surely the crime bucket cities are getting bigger..

Like the high school I graduated here 5 years ago was safe and vivid.. It had 1 fat cop as security who was eating donuts all day and laughing..

Now however.. Now we have feds parked there by high school. There was few major drug busts in my town even, it is going slowly but it is happening. I also see cops hiding behind gas stations late at night, hunting.

I don't mind this at all. In my opinion more law enforcement on streets is very good, especially near schools.

I read that Texas is now passing law to have 2-3 armed security on every school in Texas. Schools can either hire private company or let the government do hiring. I think this is good idea, especially after what happened previously. Its shame that kids pay for sickness of someone else's mind.

My 07 has a dent in the top. Not enough damage to justify getting it replaced, but enough that no one would steal it. It can't be repaired.

And I wouldn't assume it were stolen. Yes, it does happen. But I've known of a LOT more guys who take the tailgate off temporarily for various reasons than I've known of tailgates being stolen. I've done so in the past. The odds are good that he just took it off.

Sounds like excuse for people who wants to drive a prius but are hiding it deep in their heart.
