zero cats? 1 cat? Curious how much they affect backpressure vs. the OEM runners/diameter itself.

    They don’t hold the cats - they’re just a y pipe and 2 manifolds.

Most of the back pressure on an OEM setup will be from the restrictive CATs and the small diameter pipe.

My DTs seemed to be designed to bolt right up to the OEM CATs. However, the location wasn't ideal. Ended up deleting the first CAT and adding a 2.5" section of pipe to mate up with the DTs. In the long run I replaced the 2nd CAT too with a Magnaflow hi-flow CAT and used 2.5" piping, resonator and exhaust all the way out to the rear.

I don't have a way of measuring back pressure differences, but this combinations seems perfect. Sounds awesome and run great.

I am at sea level with the 2.37" pulley so still pretty conservative. On a cool day I consistently see 6-6.5 psi.

The headers and upstream CAT delete were on it already when I added the SC. The hi-flow CAT, Vibrant resonator and bigger piping were added after the SC. I don't recall any change to boost levels.

I'll sell you mine for a good price if you end up wanting to go big. Been running great on the greddy EMU but once I got that P1300 it reminded me of a buddy with an IS300 that got stranded on the freeway when his greddy EMU's ignition chip got un-seated (early board version issue they revised in later board models). Being the engineer he is, he was able to patch up his harness to drive home using OEM ignition. That episode has been doing laps in my head and this being an off-road truck where I go pretty deep into Anza, Trona pinnacles etc I want a backup to my piggyback crapping out. Right now I have a spare AEM FIC in the back but I like the idea of just being able to jumper harness the EMU side or get up into the glove box area and just pull the PNP harness.

    IMO very good pumps.

I need to jump on an injector/fuel pressure calculator myself + play with E85 calculations just for giggles. Would love to be able to squeak by with slightly larger injectors, just small enough for OEM ECU control but just big enough to do E85 every now and then on the S/C's 6-8psi.

Do you have a bad exhaust smell when not running a cat? I cored out my 2nd Gen cat when it got clogged and it smells like an old hot rod if I’m at a stop light with the vent on.

Funny, DW has an injector calculator on their site, and also really cool is it has a fuel flow vs fuel pressure calculator as well.

a 7 to 1 FMU would let me run E85 on OEM injectors, or at least close. Unfortunately the Vortec unit is fixed, so I'm looking at adjustable units, there are some with 1:1 to 14:1 range.

Sucks cause I'm spoiled at being able to just flip a switch in the cab to run E85, this other method would require popping the hood and wrenching an adjustment on an FMU and doesn't address vacuum driving as well. In the piggy I'd need to add about 30% fuel in vacuum and then taper that off when going into boost and let the FMU do its job. Would probably be pretty clunky.

I haven't run E85 for years so I probably shouldn't even take it into consideration. Priority is to make the truck easily 'limp' home with the piggyback disconnected.

What would be cool is if we could get a longer snout and a 6 rib pulley. With the correct electric fan setup you could, in theory, turn the fan bracket into a “jackshaft” and have a supercharger drive pulley made for the repurposed Jackshaft then run a single belt from the new Jackshaft pulley to the longer snout of the supercharger. That way we could finally get a 6 rib setup with a dedicated supercharger belt and tensioner. This would solve several issues. A much larger market for off the shelf belts, the supercharger belt being the outermost belt, and getting much higher potential for grip.

obviously, that would all depend on being able to create enough space from a electric fan to fit all the updated pulleys, supports, etc. but I think it’s plenty doable.

There is about 1.75” of room between 4” of shroud and fans and a 6 rib belt is like .875” wide. I think it’s definitely doable but might be tight and slimline fans might have to be utilized.
    IMG_6933.png

this was actually something I’ve been thinking about for quite some time. I’ve spent countless hours over the last few years trying to create my own supercharger setup with a used TVS1320 or TVS1720 head unit and an old TRD Supercharger housing and mating them up. And doing all the brackets etc. but I’m a terrible fabricator and other things got in the way so I never really worked on it much. Now that the new system is out it’s solves most of those issues. Though I would have preferred a front inlet like the Colorado has which, in my completely unprofessional opinion would have better flow. But this new unit is much better.

Maybe get this to Gabe to think over. Though, I’m sure he’s too busy to mess with something with such a small market.

This blower's efficiency and brute size might really allow for some spicy setups. I'm really excited for what people can conjure up on this.

Also, what’s the word on running water/meth through the TVS1320? I have mixed feelings about taking a brand new unit and tainting the needle bearings and rotors. It would suck to blast all that costing off and potentially wash the rear bearings.

Ive been doing my best to be a financially responsible adult. But damn if it isn’t about time for a rebuild. I might need to get with my sponsor, the prophet himself, Dave Ramsey, before I go and crack another one and loose all control….

    The temptation is REAL.

So this dyno is comparing the TVS1320 with standalone to a M62 on stock ECU and meth?

Do you have one comparing M62 with standalone to TVS1320 with standalone?

My belt was slipping because it was too long for the 65mm pulley, you cant use the same stock belt and I need to raise the red line to 6k and do another dyno.
The tvs1320 is still making positive hp at 5400rpms in blue unlike the TRD supercharger the hp goes south at 4800rpms
