It comes down to you feeling disrespected.
Don't accept that.

Let me explain:

Men are trained from an early age to not complain, not be a burden on others, to suck it up and do one's duty.
That hasn't changed, but these days men receive less respect for what they do.
Most importantly, how can a man stick it out and do his duty without self respect?
Life is hard, no two ways about it.

What to do?
I can't answer that for you, but here's what I'd do:

First, if your wife and kid disrespect you, don't let it go.
Call them out on it.
And if they pull any passive aggressive shit in response, don't let them get away with that either.

Second, you are not responsible for their bad behavior or the consequences thereof.
If you bail them out, it's a free gift, not something they're necessarily entitled to.
Make that clear.

Maintain your self respect.
If that means being a hard-ass when it's warranted, then so be it.


Again, this is not advice, so think it over.
