5100's or Pro comp 3" Lift

Is the 5100's with Eibach front coils and 2" AAL the same as the pro comp 3" lift just better quality? I have a DC Prerunner. I'm not doing any crazy off roading obviously its a pre runner. Just going camping fishing and hunting that kind of stuff. More for the looks. Anybody have the pro comp lift and have good things to say about it. I'm leaning toward the pro comp just because it's $120 cheaper but if the 5100 is that much better than might as well get it. From all the treads It seems like it. Also I'm undecided if I want to do a 265 or a 285? Would a 265 look to small? I'm gonna be putting it on a XD Revolver Wheel. What do you guys think?

Just got my ProComp lift installed wednesday. Got it Shipped to my door for $414 at truckaddons.com. I would totally recommend it for the price

 

The Bilstein 5100 shocks are higher quality than the procomp ones because they are monotube vs. the Pro Comps being twin tube.

Is it a big enough difference that it is something you'll likely notice on a day to to day basis? I'm not sure on that. All I know is that everyone who has the 5100's and Eibachs says they ride like a dream. Never been in a truck with that setup though.

I'm not trying to start a pissing match but, how do you know? You don't have either lift in question...
I have ridden in a truck with just the 5100's maxed out and the ride was very comprable to MY procomp kit. I haven't ridden in a truck with 5100's and Eibachs- as it's not a very common set up. As far as quality goes, so far so good. I think both are good options.

I guess after reading al the input so far, my question would be, which lift is the most balanced? I dont if I can explain this better...which lift makes the truck look evenly balanced so the front or back dont look higher than the other?

 

What lift do you have and what size tires

 

i just installed the billies (.85") and eibachs. Rides GREAT! only thing i would change is the rear leaf. Go with TSB instead of the 2" because my back sits a little higher than the front :/

 

I pretty much do have the same lift, except i have OME coils and not Eibachs and just because i dont own the Procomp lift, dosent mean i havent ridden in one.

The 5100's will not be "maxed" out, as you say, with this setup either. I see your still kinda new, but you will notice the 5100/Eibach lift is a lot more common then the Procomp kit.

OP go with 285's, 265's will look too small imo

I can agree with the 5100's being softer and better quality, but I think you have to add a spacer to get 3" of lift

 

The spring rate for Eibach's is #620 vs #590 for the 884/5's. Although the spring length is different. But I would imagine the ride to be fairly close.
I never said the 5100's will be maxed out with this set up. With the 5100/eibach set up, they should be set no more than .85.
I was refering to me riding in a taco with the 5100's "maxed" out at 2.50, the ride felt like my truck with the procomp lift. He had a Toytec aal, 5100'sx4 and stock sport springs.-- a very common lift.

As far as being a newb, check again.

Back to the op's question, both lifts are valid lifts. I'm happy with my Procomp and many are happy with their 5100/Eibach lift. I'm just thrifty and chose to save a few bucks.

 

That is correct you can add a 1/4" thick top-plate spacer to get the full 3" of lift.

Lift Newb Questions....

So if I'm certain about getting the 5100/Eibach Lift and I want my taco lookin level to the ground with a 2.5 lift, what do I need to buy? Of course, all 4 height adjustable 5100's (i know the rears arent adjustable). Where do i find the Eibach springs? and from what ive heard "aal" is the best route for the rear, so what kind do i buy and where do i get it?

Also from my understanding a 2.5 lift doesnt require longer brake lines or any other additional items??
