4th Gen Tacoma (2024+)

Rear facing kids car seats will probably be impossible with the iso seats.

 

The 4Runner works pretty well as a family hauler.

 

Like Hot Cakes my friend. As much as I've bitched about the stupid details, in its class, the Tacoma will be the benchmark. Been that way for years, will continue to be so.

 

The 1794 Limited Edition in Army Green wouldn't be bad, I'm not much for fancy leather even on the King Ranch but that leather looks nice, and I like the two tone on the KR. The exterior finish of the 1794 looks good, but on either truck I'd prefer a longer bed option and could do with out the panoramic head room limiter.

Even if nobody buys the Tacoma it will sell.

 

Size of the 1st gen and Truck before it was good for the time but the short wheel track made it unstable, it had bad road manners and was a lot less safe. Imo the 2nd/3rd gen is the sweet spot and todays full size trucks are too big.

 

Looks sort of like a Chevy avalanche around the 2003 mark to me.

 

yep. reason you won’t see me in one. Found a clean 2021 TRD Pro LR tundra I’m considering or just stuffing the rear car seat back in current taco

 

wife has a 23 RXh that’ll be the primary kid hauler until number 2 and I need the bed space for random trips to track and hunny to dos around house

 

yep and they’re discounting them, buddy just got $8k off his 1794 and it’s still hideous lol

 

I feel this... my truck at this point is basically a sports coupe with a 6ft bed. I will always have a truck, but since one of my kids is grown and the other is almost, nobody wants to sit in the back. I use my bed just about every day and I'm at the age where I'm not buying a second vehicle for anything. I've had as many as 3 vehicles in the driving rotation and I always gravitate to the pickup. If your wife has a family hauler then that'll do.

I stuffed 4 ppl in my AC and loaded the bed with bikes, beach gear, etc for a week on the beach and nobody really complained about being jammed up ... 1.5 hours is the max trip you can take though .. anything more in the jump seats is torture

 

Depending on how much leg room you/spouse need, you can make work a Taco work with car seats. It’s not ideal, but doable if it’s not the primary fam hauler. The car seats get smaller as the kids grow. Conversely the kids also grow. I’ve got two kids, 5 y/o and 7 y/o. Both raised in the Tacoma. Admittedly I am considering moving to a full size now. Wife’s LR 4Runner is the main family mover.

Love the LR on both 2.5 and 3rd gen Tundras. While I prefer the 2.5 gen, I feel like I’m stepping back 10yrs with that interior. I don’t hate the new ones. Just needs a facelift and aftermarket tires/wheels for me to stomach looking at them.

Local dealership is advertising $5999 off MSRP for in stock Tundras. Not enough off for me yet.

 

Exactly how I feel man. Both our vehicles are paid off and nice only having the mortgage these days and I do love my 2022 LR now that I have her setup how I like, probably just keep her cause everything I see new wise doesn't excite me and like you said the 21 Tundra I drove was nice but dated.

 

I couldnt imagine, when I had an AC it was just me and the pup. Kudos to you sir.

 

Tundras are sitting at dealers here. Probably Alabama, too.

 

Tundras are still priced to high unless you want a Tundra. I haven't priced them, but the discounts are probably on higher trim models. Much like other manufacturers, there aren't many people buying new vehicles right now. Trucks being the most popular sales have slowed. The fast growing segment EV, is stagnant. Dealers will tell you nobody wants an EV. They want a Tesla, and Tesla numbers are down. The majority of new trucks I see on the road have a big company name on the side.

 

Yep. Honestly this is GM country, Silverados and Sierras galore.

 

I'm so sick of waiting for the 4th Gen I'd jump on a heavily discounted Tundra if it wasn't too big for my garage. Also they're not getting anywhere near the advertised gas mileage. I don't mind the look of them.

 

Yep, Ford advertising 1.9% and $1k cash back on F150. Also see the FB Toyota broker guy offering $5-7K off high trim trundras. Others getting that deal as a walk in. 3.9% on what left of the 3rd Feb Tacomas. Little bits here and there but I get the feeling 2024-25 is going to see some major shift back to a buyers market.

Though don’t think this will impact the Tacoma in 2024. Likely still hard to get.

 

The current trend for them to seize bearings and torpedo the engine around 20K may have a little bit to do with why the confidence in buying them is low right now.

 

I was wondering if this is more common than the few random reports I've seen. For me its the atrocious build quality, even the loyal influencers like TRD JON are talking about cracked seats still and rattling windows and we are almost 2 years in to that cycle. Can only imagine what this place will be like with the new 4th gen, people kidding themselves if they think its gonna be problem free as evidenced by the Tundra.
