What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

New headlights. Fog lights tomorrow.

 

Took both of us about an hour and a half to deaden it, maybe 2 and a half hours for total install. He had previously taken the headliner out to put on a roof rack. I'm going to start taking my headliner out tonight to get ready to deaden it tomorrow

 

Took me thirty minutes. I did break one tiny plastic part but I ordered a new one from Amazon, it'll be here Monday.

But no more tin can sound should be good.

Drove my 06 5 slug Taco from NW Ga to Denver this week and gave it to my son to take back to Montana. Gonna miss ole Indigo Ink.

 

It absolutely is. Needs an overhaul but nothing I can't handle at the shop. Got an amazing deal on it as well.

What exactly does this stuff do to deaden the sound? I keep wanting to do this, but only because I see a lot of other people doing it so I figure it must work. Just don't know why it works. Sorry if I sound like a damn fool, but I'm genuinely curious. Also, are they all the same or is there any particular brand better than most?

Added blue Sumosprings to counter some of the sag from the topper. The ride is definitely smoother. Also did the Uni filter conversion for the secondary air pump filter. I have an Undercover SE tonneau cover for sale if anyone is interested in the San Antonio area.

 

I’ve been looking around on Amazon. Seems are all about the same. Time to do a little reading. So far I’ve found that using one of those roller things is a must. Stuff has to be pressed firmly against the metal or won’t do its job well at all. Thank you for the reply.

 

I started my 120,000 mile service by changing the air filter, cabin air filter and swapping out the spark plugs, which are pictured below:



I’ll do the transmission, differentials and transfer case next weekend.

 

I honestly think somebody could answer this better than I. All I know is, it works. I'm sure some brand is better than another, but I just got some Amazon stuff and it works fine for me.

 

Had some time today so I completely redid my existing sound Deadening on my doors. I did it first when I was maybe 20? I didn't know how to do it right, so I just redid it. I can already tell an improvement in sound quality so that's worth the 5 hours I spent in the garage today.

Back doors were a bit harder. All of the seatbelt safety stuff is back there, so I used as much material as I could with out tinkering with the seat belt things.
