To deal with the loss of leg room and the pure ridiculousness of the shocks and plastic I'd rather had massaging seats. I'd got more use out of them......lol

Yep, I actually like the Pro's exterior, the interior overkill is what has me stuck, TRD everything with plastic terribleness and seats no one wants or GAF about, like who did they survey to think that was a good idea or wanted new feature/option.

Crazy thought but just maybe they designed the seats for people that actually SHOULD be buying a pro. I bet that gimble function will be pretty nice once u actually take it on some ruts/rocks… pretty sure nobody on this site has actually tried them yet. Everyone complaining about the seats r prob the same 95% of pro owners who don’t need any capability beyond a 2wd sr5 but they can’t be seen in anything other than the ‘max bro’ option.

Lots of people buy cars, suvs and trucks trimmed up way beyond what they “need”.

Life’s too short to buy just what you need.

How about the people that actually can afford them and the majority of the market. Why can't we have an offroad capable daily driver and still have room for car seats for the daycare car pool line. Just saying. Or how about the option to just not have them, why do they have to be standard on the trim? And wtf does there need to be a giant plastic logo in the seat. Willing to bet it wasn't designed for the 0.00000000000001% who will drive/use a pro solely for offroading but a cool marketing feature for all the dudes and gals out there who want to show off at the stop light. Toyota should be and is aiming for capturing as much market share and sales as possible, it clearly was designed for that and not the tiny fraction of people who you are alluding too, and its still gawdy and unwanted by a majority of the people who would be buying it.

lol man struck a chord there… for one I’m pretty sure nobody yet knows if they are 100% required on the PRO trim anyways. There are many trims of Tacoma with the 3” more legroom if u need them… or ya know buy a full size truck that actually fits cars seats if that’s what ur worried about. I’m just saying I don’t fault Toyota for putting over the top ish in the PRO bc that’s kind of what it’s supposed to be.

Not sure if you've shopped lately but full size pricing and size for that matter is crap, not to mention the Tundra is fugly as hell and not buying another brand. From everything we've heard or seen it looks like its standard on the trim, which is just my complaint why and who did they survey of current owners / enthusiasts that were like yes I would like no feasible backseat space at all (not just car seats but probably from looks not even a person can comfortably sit back there) for these space seats that I'll use maybe 1% of the time. Sign me up, right there with the bright red interior and TRD logos everywhere. I get it they needed something to one up the competition and to say only in its class, but lets be honest most don't care for it or will ever use it and you'll definitely be paying for the feature.

How often do you use your truck bed?

Unless you are hauling stuff in the bed that really needs 4x4 to get to your destination, many times a 4Runner is better matched for family scenarios.

I know all of the scenarios. Just throwing it out there. I’m going through a different decision process right now.

I sold my Corvette and bought a badass BMW X5 for my lady. That means my 4Runner comes back to me. Thinking of driving it for another 3-5 years and selling the Taco. Things could change after I see legit reviews of the next gen Tacos, 4runner, Land Cruiser, and Lexus GX 550.

For now, we are good for the next few years while everything becomes clearer.

It’s been too long but I’ve seen pictures somewhere that show a TRD Pro without the suspension seats. I believe they will be optional just so Toyota can remain competitive price wise.
Imagine $54,995 then add $1,995 or $2,995 for seats and they still come in around the price of AT4X Ranger Raptor and a little bit more than ZR2.

Why would Toyota have told us the price of the seats if they were going to be standard?

Probably about 4-6 times a month. I do like the T4Rs but would like to remain in a truck. Wife is in a new RXh and we plan on stepping her up to a new GX once the second kid shows up in a few years.

Lot of folks losing their minds over TRD Pro seats in here who aren't going to even be in the market for a TRD Pro

If someone does a lot of high speed off roading that would require extra suspension wouldn’t it make more sense to just buy a raptor than a truck with bouncy seats.

In one of the promo videos they showed highlighting the seats, in use the occupants were still moving around. Maybe they soften some of the impacts, but they showed as gimmicky and not at all as isolating as the advertisement department would lead you to believe.

I'd be all over ventilated seats though.

We’ll see what the actual reviews say. I’m buying an SR most likely anyways so I don’t give a crap if the PRO seats massage, cool, make me dinner, etc cuz I sure as hell ain’t paying for them either way. Just saying they could end up being cool in the end. Personally, give me a manual trans and basic 4WD with the updated drivetrain and I’m good to go.
