2002 180,00 miles taco. Mechanic wants to replace w/All imitations 1 wheel bearing, complete Timing Belt kit and Radiator for 1800.00.
Looked up actual price parts he’s marking up double.
I said what if I buy OEM parts and just charge me labor.
He says you can do that but we won’t guarantee our work.
I can knock the total down to about 1/2 with OEM parts and his labor that come with at least 18 month warranty if replaced by a Certified mechanic. I understand nobody has a crystal ball.
    Your opinions, taco brothers?

Usually when I ask myself these questions the outcome is I schedule time off work, knuckle in and do it myself. Radiator and wheel bearing are simple (if you have no problems getting it apart.) Timing belt is a bit more complex but if you take your time, you can do it.
