Quick test run out to Bulldog went well with @bad_guac! We put the new Kings through it paces and bumped around for the day!

We would be able to see that pretty suspension if he could flex a little bit more :boink:@bad_guac

How did you like the different ride now that you actually have some pavement miles and some dirt miles?

Looks great. And like it was a fun time. Was it as windy down there as it was up here?

It has been, but its blowing all the heat out and feels Fucking Great! Only a high of 88 all day, was a pretty sweet ride.

Downfall of the wind, the Dump on the B-line is on fire and nothing but blowng wind and campfire. Not the same smell in the city vs. camping!

Oh shit nice. We are seeing a high of 68 today supposedly. That smell sounds terrible! There is a fire up here next to Colcord road blowing smoke into Heber. I am sure the wind the last few days has not helped.

Yeah yeah yeah the sway bar probably won't last the rest of the year :anonymous:

The rear articulates pretty damn well.

Set up feels awesome, way better than factory.
Feel a lot more of the imperfections in the road but bigger bumps just soak up especially at speed. And offroad is great too. The truck settles immediately instead of wallowing around for 10 seconds after a series of bumps.

Yeah that rear looks great! I knew you would come around :D The imperfections in the road drive me nuts but it all just feels so damn solid.

I'm not sure I can commit to removing the front sway bar. I've kicked around the idea a ton but even running the Foxes at full stiff coming down the 17 and 87 idk how well I could adjust to no sway bar.

@bad_guac the flex looks great! Soon you'll be wanting more and will be doing a shock relocation lol.

As for sway bar tossed mine in the dumpster 2 years ago and never missed it. Actually rides better on and off road without it. Take it off and try it out. You can always put it back on.

My wife didnt want me to remove her's. I did it anyway and didnt tell her. She is fine without it now and doesnt want it back. I like to think it slowed her down a bit coming down the mountain but probably not.

Probably the number 1 upgrade for a mid travel setup. Always kills me when people are running uca’s, lca’s, coil over and bypass and still have the sway bar.

I'll probably seriously consider it after this week+ long adventure up to Utah we've got coming up Friday.

I'm pretty used to adapting to vehicles. Going from a civic coupe to a 30,000lbs class A truck back to the civic and then hopping on a supermoto was a daily thing for a while.

Before the tacoma I had a Focus ST so between the sport tuned suspension and the 40 series tires I'm used to feeling every piece of gravel I drive over

What I tell everyone who is on the fence is to just take it off and drive around. It’s easy to remove and just as easy to reinstall. Every set up is different and everyone’s comfort level is different so it’s the only way.

    Ok, soooo........dumb question.

I am fairly mechanically inclined. For instance, without ever working on suspensions before, I installed the 6112/5160 setup, added ride rites, EGCS clamshell, u-bolt flip, and a small rear block (for now), and had zero issues. About 5.5 hrs all in. That included looking up torque values for everything while I was doing it. Hardest part, IMHO, was removing the aluminum skid to hammer the axle out of the front diff to do the ECGS (I used the cold chisel method since I did not have a hammer puller or like). I thought everything else was stupid-easy.

While I had the sway bar disconnected from the spindles, I said, "Fuck it" and tried to pull it out. Disconnected the two brackets. No luck. Had my 17 year old come out to help me man-handle the thing, but we could not figure out how to contort it and pull it out of there. Do I have to remove the bumper? Do I have to remove the front cross member? I was stumped without doing one of those. I hear people say it was easy. My intelligence has been insulted. What was I missing?

Next step: sawzall (but hard to go back if I regret it).

Disconnect the ends from the spindles?

    Edit: me no read good!

Mine was simple, drop the factory splash guard, remove two brackets in the center, undo spindle connections and the fucker fell off practically

That's the thing...mine was trapped, or something. We twisted, turned, tried to bend, and it just hit the wheel wells, et al.

When I say my intelligence was insulted, I mean it, because I could not see how it would be easy enough to fall out. Mine HAS to come out one side or the other withput removing a cross member piece or the bumper (to come out the front). I was concerned removing the cross member piece given I had so much of the front end torn apart (didn't want something to get out-of-whack).
