Yea did you also happen to mention that you hadn't actually installed it yet? Lol.. I'm looking for people's actual experience with the effectiveness of this product on a taco.

So I said I tested with an excess piece- basically I rolled it out to get the length needed and cut that to size, the remainder was about a foot or more that covers a good corner section. I wanted to see how durable it was with that test strip, it’s been on longer than I’d like to admit and although I don’t use the truck as a construction hauler esi holds up when properly cleaned/primed.

I mean if it can’t hold up as a 1-2’ test piece then 5+’ for the whole length is going to do what more? Durability use is repeated open/close, dragged across etc and with a test strip there’s a end exposed compared to as if it was edge to edge… so if it can hold up to that, what do you think with the edges protected by the bedsides?

no I didn’t completely spell it out previously but thought I gave a good recommendation of the company products and specifically 2 products to use for solving problems of this thread with my experience.

Oh that changes things if you had a test strip on there for a while. I know it's a bit embarrassing when projects fall thru the cracks but it happens to all of us ... do you mind mentioning exactly how long you've had it on the truck? I'm hoping years lol :) Seems like a good product for what I want.

Pretty much what everyone has already said is what I did. I also sealed the front bed rail along the cab and put black waterproof gorilla tape over the drain holes in the bed floor so I can remove it to wash out the bed or whatever. Just the tailgate seal combined with Rock Block will cut down on dust intrusion immensely. Also, unlike that video I left the outside of the bed rails unsealed to allow air/dust/water to exit towards the outside.

I've had it for 2 years, along with the other things I said I did. I think it is a necessity if you want to reduce dust. Mine has held up. I drag stuff across it loading/unloading the bed and it hasn't started to peel or anything.

I tried sealing mine up and it helped a little but the only real solution is a positive pressure system

I used this one also. Not happy with it. Too thick and didn’t stick well. Have to replace it after only 6months

There seems to be consensus the ESI products are pretty good for this purpose.
