If I open up a shop (in 10 years as loosely planned) I'll definitely opt for laser

    Only like $50k minimum :spending:

I do think their setup wasn't super dialed in but it pushed me off of plasma.

My main seller isn't just a square. (Parts on the left)

Shhh! As a retired Toyota employee I am required to call this a lie :luvya:, even though my newest vehicle is a 2003.

Laser will always be cleaner, but those parts on the left would be easy for someone running plasma.

Not trying to dissuade you from using sendcutsend anymore, just dispelling whatever feelings you may have due to 1 seller that uses plasma.

Oh yeah I dont use them for my larger parts runs now. A guy I met through fishing runs a laser at a fab shop and he does everything for me now. Pricing is better but sucks that I have to drive to pick stuff up lol it's about a 45 minute drive.

    Bulk order!

That's awesome that you scored a good hook up

Mine isn't so much of a hook up as he and his dad do a lot of large manufacturing so it's nice that he'll take in any work no matter how small (like the square I got cut) and still throw it on his laser

To them, 4' x 4' sheets of steel end up as scrap cause the components they cut and bend are much larger even

Your hook up should be buying his "scrap" steel for cheap...

He is the very guy that sells me (and has given me) the cheap steel I've been acquiring these past 2 months

His dad owns the business, and he's normally the guy there running it

They have a huge ass press brake, laser setup, and more

    NICE!

Harbor Freight here so that's perfect; think I'll cut it out today after some errands cause I have my press brake and finger dies all sitting on my wood bench at the moment

I have very little need for a press. When I do (every 5 years), I farm out the press work.

That does look like I great way to have a press on the cheap.

Quick local job; guy found me when I was getting rid of some scrap

    20231003_150353.jpg

Cut some slats out for my table, had to modify the tabs to fit

    20231003_164138.jpg

    Edit -

    Slats all in place

@Slashaar didn't want to derail the HF thread but there's the table top with the slats in place
