Man I used to have drive miles down gravel roads to make delivery. Or up steep private roads where I told dispatcher I needed weight to make it up.
Found out yesterday that the guy that replaced me walked in last Wednesday and quit. I can't do it anymore.:rofl::rofl:Every time someone ran that route for more than a week they never wanted to run it again. I loved that route, had most of my regulars trained to meet me on my schedule. Really was a good route, worked hard but if it was not too bad.

Morning you crazy drivers, don't roll over those pesky 4 wheelers. And keep the shiny side up and the rubber side down.

Dirt roads ain’t for everyone but for those of us that like them it’s just our thing. I’d take a day in the mountains with homeowners over our internal work in subdivisions or to commercial jobs.

Used to go to fish hatcheries all the time, when you get there some had very little room to turn around. Drove a Volvo screw day cab with a 48' lift gate.

I’ve got a California transfer on a 379 chassis and hilariously the truck with the worst turning of the fleet does the tight mountain runs. It rides the best and is the cleanest interior so I don’t mind the headache of manuvering.

I took today off. I have an eye exam and I need to get new glasses. I'm way overdue. I have vision insurance so I better use it while I have it.
Nothing on the job search. Jobs are just as shitty as what I have.
    Have a good day drivers.

Be patient, something will pop up. Don’t jump just to get out, then land in something worse. Keep your eyes and ears open. It will happen !!

Here's an observation of the p.o.s. company I currently work for. I'm in the Detroit are so the majority of the cheap labor has always been held by the black workers. We have a broad diversity of ethnicities, Asians, Hindus, black white, Mexican and Venezuelan. Lately for every black worker they get rid of they hire Mexican or Latinos. Now I don't have a problem with any of them, what I do have a problem with is corporate America giving all the jobs to the people that just walked across the border and don't even speak English because they will work for less money than everyone else, thats wrong! My employer says we have an app to translate on your phone. I said I don't have time for that, I need to be able to communicate with a person about many things that come off my truck and how to load it so I'm legal and safe. Bottom line is now none of our jobs are secure, it's only a matter of time before the non English speaking Mexican drivers take our jobs, I already see it happening.
I pray that I can make it the next 4 years untill I retire.
Just an observation and food for thought.
