I dunno, it's pretty dang comfortable. I'm 6'1 and I can scoot the seat fwd a bit to gain recline.

Can you do this and keep the air bags? Or do you have to disable them?

You can keep the airbags. Just need to get seats that have them. I've heard there is a way to do it without getting the airbag light to turn on but didn't happen for me. Just need to get a reader that can scan and clear srs codes.

I am doing the bench to bucket swap today. Friend in the car business reminded me to unhook the negative battery cable more than 30 minutes before fooling with the wiring. So did that first, then some cleaning and watched the clock. It is noon hour, I have the drivers seat in and did grind the seat belt fitting to make it work with the latch. After lunch have to take apart both seats and swap in the wiring harness and the pressure plate. The drivers seat wiring connected just right. Both the truck and the buckets are 14 models.

Afrer I did the bench seat mod it’s honestly the most comfortable seat and I’ve owned multiple Tacomas of all generations multiple tundras of all generations and multiple 4Runners of all generations, I drove non stop from SoCal to Bozeman Montana in my bench seat. Before I did the bench seat mod I was seriously going to sell the truck worst fucking seating position in the world

for those that have done this mod, what are you doing for a center console? I have a 2013 (automatic), and I flipped my bench to buckets, but the shifter is in a slightly different place than the access or doubles, so the stock console doesn't fit, I was thinking of using a manual cab console as it looks like it is closer to the correct position for my model, but I'm just not sure how to hand the bag cover over a boxy auto shifter. anyone else have this issue? how did you handle it?
