My mod list is getting long too and I would love to say fuck school work and get this all done, but I can't just yet. It's irritating. I keep looking at the AALs in my truck and I die a little inside everyday. Bleh. I'll post pics immediately once I get a few hours to drop the lift in

 

haha. Nice job on the exhaust. What made you decide to go up to a 2.5? Did you use that on the bended part too? It's hard to tell with the wrap.

just figured i'd bump it up while i was there. toyota puts some real engineering into the bends and routing of the crossover to optimise flow with the smaller diameter. the way i did it is obviously less efficient, or toyota would ahve done it that way. so with the flow i lost by undoing their engineering, i figure i might be able to get back with bigger pipe. that's just my theorey though.

 

The stock seems restrictive the way it sort of flattens out under the t-case, it seems yours would flow smoother.

 

actually, there's a possibility that the flattened part under the t-case is the least restrictive part of the system. if you stay with engineering, you'll learn about "laminar flow" when you take a fluid dynamics class. the general idea is that with a round tube making a bend, the fluid (exhaust in this case) on the outside of the turn has to speed up, carry a higher velocity around the turn, and then slow back down after it straightens back out. this is what causes turbulence. laminar flow is where all of the fluid is moving the same speed (of close to it). this can be accomplished by using flattened bends, causing the fluid on the inside of the turn and the fluid on the outside of the turn have a radius about the turn that is very close in distance. if done right, this can cut down siginifficantly on turbulance and increase efficiency. there are actually a couple companies out there who make completely laminar headers. i forget the names though.

i don't know if toyota ever released anything about it, so it could have been for either reason, your gues is as good as mine.
