I actually sold the truck today.. Sad day but have a new 4Runner rig on the way and literally just ordered some new RSG sliders for it. . The install was really easy with no hiccups. Hardest part was figuring out which bolt went were.

I've got Greenlane sliders arriving today, can't wait!

I know most folks don't want aluminum sliders, but they're perfect for me. I don't really NEED sliders, I just need a step but really prefer the look. Also, the aluminum won't rust here in Hawaii, and they are light weight while providing some protection just in case. They also were 25% the cost to ship (even coming from Canada). Not 25% less, fully 25% the cost. Finally, order date to ship date was 17 days. Not weeks.

what's the total weight of the set with hardware? his site says 'less than half the weight' of steel sliders, and most kits are ~150lbs. i like the features available with the greenlanes, but my focus was light & strong... weaker aluminum was not a consideration. i got the sdhq chrome moly's which are a tick under 100lb total with the grade 8 hardware. if the weight difference is just around 25lbs or so, then that's good to know for comparisons.

Running some Warfab sliders, I'll probably make some new ones this winter. Might even cut the rocker panel out a bit and make some out of rectangle tube tucked up higher.

I’ve got RCI’s standard 20 degree bolt on sliders with no top plate. Have used them around 1.5 years on trails throughout CO and have loved them.

My recommendation is to get them powder coated directly from whoever you purchase them through. Save yourself the hassle of prep and painting with inferior products…. I painted mine myself and they quickly chipped and began to rust, even with proper prep, primer and multiple coats. And it’s just a pain to constantly touch them up for rock chips on road trips, especially if you live in a cold climate with salt.

Here is a pic of mine installed. 2016 DCLB TRD Sport 4x4.

SDHQ. Very light, very strong, very expensive. I went with them because they have both the front-most and rear-most frame attach point I’ve seen on any slider. All sliders I’ve seen have their front-most and rear-most attach points under the doors while the SDHQ attach points are more or less in the wheel well, so the front and rear of the slider is fully braced where other sliders I’ve seen are not. I’m also fortunate enough to have SDHQ local to me, so no freight charges.

SDHQ & CBI slider pics attached for attach point reference.

I really like how tight those are against the body of the truck. One of the reasons I took the factory ones off with the step is they sat so low and just looked silly.

Someone is reading this thread thinking these are all super expensive after shipping and powder coat. Check out Body Armor. Got them in the high $600’s shipped and already powder coated.

They may not be the best if you are bashing on rocks all day but easily support the weight of the truck and have been tested a little in Moab already.
