I've been rotating out in winter for blizzaks or nokians for the past 10+ years (outback and tacoma) or so and I really like good snow tires for regular winter driving. I was a bit disappointed in my nokians when I was up in the mountains in some deep snow. They actually weren't bad, but I felt like the rather close lugs make them a bit less ideal in snowy off road situations.

Anyone have a similar experience and have you found anything you think does great on road in winter but also off road? I think my Wildpeaks actually do pretty good and I might just stick with these all winter this year and see what I think, but a dedicated winter on and off road tire would be perfect. Does it exist?

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I’ve been rolling BFG Commercial T/A traction tires for 14 years and they’ve been superb.5D7CD30A-E473-4C1A-A044-269F9B24B00D.jpg

going to be hard to find a tire that does both on-road and off-road snow well. They're usually opposite designs. That seems to be why a lot of guys stick with all-seasons all year.

Personally I'd stick with the snow tires for daily driving and temporarily swap back to my all seasons if I knew I had a snow wheeling day coming up. It's that or do like you did and deal with the not-great off-road deep-snow traction

Thanks. I might just have to see how the Wildpeaks do all winter. They actually do pretty well off road in the snow and shoulder season around town. I haven't really tested them on icy pavement.
