Gonna be straight up with you cause I was in your same position at 17 about to ship out to basic. Take what you want from this. I highly suggest not spending anything. Build your savings. I know at 17 you want all the flashy shit and idk your situation but honestly from what i read you can't afford it. You definitely won't be able to afford it as a new recruit. With that being said if you just want something mild I'd look for used if not another cheaper option like bilsteins. Now, if you don't care about any of that and want kings cause well, kings....find something tacoma specific. The work to make those rears fit outweighs the benefit. Don't mean to be rude but just save your money.

    Fucking this.

Bought my first house after I got out the military mainly cause I saved all my deployment money and rode a motorcycle everywhere (cheaper than a car).

This is my plan. The truck while I'm in will be with family, and I will buy a probably a ruckus before a car. I got them down to 1500, so I'm going go shoot for 500 for the rears. Free shipping.

On a side note, good luck at basic training. PM me if you have any questions. Currently still serving active duty but transitioning over to the guard side here within the next year

i agreed with you lol. not sure why you seem so up in arms.

Tacos have coil springs in front, leaf springs in the rear. 4runners have coil springs at all 4 corners. Unless Toyota changed something very recently and I haven't noticed.

I've been out since 2009 so it's been a minute, but even those guys that came in got me in trouble cause we were hazing the fuck out of them when we got back to the barracks from my last deployment

I'm going into the Air Force. I'm thinking either SF or OSI (leaning towards OSI). I got an 86 for my AF general, so I could get almost any job. I'd also really like to get stationed in Japan. I wanna hear yalls stories haha

Dude, I'm one of the most insensitive fuckers you'll ever meet and when I talk to others that don't know me well, they get so hurt and upset because of how upfront and confrontational I can be

I'm sure you deal with the same

At the same time, I've learned a lot about mental health and have really dialed it back as I've become much more understanding and patient now

Stupidity however sends me off the fucking walls and the marine in me comes out

Lol you're gonna get fat and go on vacation

It's basically a job, not the military

I'm in aircraft maintenance so we get along with the security forces folk as we both equally get fucked over. If you're interested in OSI you can get into the program from any afsc. IMO do something that transitions over to the civilian side. As for bases it's all luck of the draw.

I did a year of schooling for aviation maintenance maintenance, then decided it wasn't for me. I'm also in DEP, and I'm going for my physical on the 13th :muscleflexing:

I say pretty off the wall shit sometimes that usually gets me in trouble. And trust me I've seen it first hand just on these forums :rofl:Definitely need the patience with the direction the armed forces are moving. They don't make em like they used to
