I like the childs presentation boomer car show sammich board to show off stock Nissan Maxima horsepower numbers.

Speaking of hrspwrs, you gonna dyno the turbo taco? I've got a time booked in November on the rollers to see what mine is up to.

I mean who knows maybe it does, lean burn is illegal for EPA standards but for an aftermarket tuning company it leaves a ton of room for MPG improvement at the cost of producing more NOx. And Toyota always leaves power on the table cause they keep the rev limit low and the tune extra safe. But even so 322hp on a modern truck isn't sandwich board worthy... okay it might be worthy of that sandwich board.

Probably eventually. Have to find a decent dyno. Gotta break out my Arduino boost controller and get some more fun going.

I did have a newer taco pull up next to me the other day - about lost himself asking if I was boosted -- "I thought I heard turbo, that's sooooo cool". It's the little things.

Oh all too familiar with that; GM did that especially for their LT1/4 variants with their reverse cooling not to mention they naturally run hotter than the L98's they replaced.

They put out good power though and were very responsive to the simplest bolt-ons, but fuck if you weren't monitoring temp gauges then you were just asking for trouble. Carry a big ass ice chest with bags of ice with ya to the track, keep that manifold cool (got plenty of track time with them unfortunately).

Anyway, yeah I bet they're leaving power on the table like you said but it's only a matter of time now where those companies start getting shut down. Unless they offer their tunes for independent testing (doubt it) to show what they offer does not push that legal boundary? Who knows :burp:

Yeah I kind of wonder how they would go about getting after them. They have companies for their little tunes and then there's the company that actually sells the tuning hardware and software which is completely separate... See it was easy for the EPA to go after Cobb because they did both

Ahh I didn't realize they only sold canned tunes, I thought they also offered handheld tuners.

Damn they're making great money then being able to sell their canned tune to everyone and their mother for the $100 it fetches.
