Do you keep the vents open when using it? Their website mentions only using it in a vented space but it's vague; what's the byproduct?

Yes, I have some peeling of powder coat on the front extrusion near the hinge. I also have some chipping on the corner support areas where the side panels meet the curved corner supports (part of the actual camper body) I assume its from the rivets loosening and the movement loosens the paint

Nope, haven’t done anything about it. I think I emailed SP a while ago about it. They mentioned just using some touch up paint. Figured I don’t mind the look so much so I haven’t done anything.

Venting is always recommended in any heated and enclosed space, especially after a dinner of chili con carne.

Anyone use and mounted the BROG?

Also jumped on a Hest mattress I was able to get at a great price. I am concerned about closing the camper mostly, but I hope it ends up working out.

Enboo. Here's what another said I asked about his experience with the Hest...

Like you said, it’s a little tight and needs some elbow grease to close up. Not a big deal. The panels should hold up fine. The Hest is hands down the best mattress out there… totally worth the high price.

The mattress is awesome. I’ll be getting one again for my new build. It folds away just like the Exped. You just push it away like you previously did with the Exped and you’re good to go.

I considered the Hest but wasn't sure where I would put it when the platform was slid back to create standing room.

I just got mine in and installed. Did not get a chance to play with it much though. The top part of the mattress is soft enought and compresses so that I have zero issues closing the camper. I also don't keep bedding up there.

My initial thought with with what to do with it when making standing space is I would just fold it in half like I already do with Exped. I don't see that being any issue at all but ill let you know when I test it.

I went with the Hest Dually Long (fits perfectly, almost identical dimensions to the Exped). I had zero issues with the Exped and loved the Exped. I have a feeling I will like the Hest a little be better, but probably not enough to buy it if I wasn't getting it for almost half off. I'll report back hopefully within a couple weeks with an update

Cool. Where did you get the Heat 50% off? @EnBoo

I'm still happy with the Exped but recently had to warranty it as it started leaking from where the deflate valve is laminated to the rest of the pad. 2.5 yrs and around 350 nights on it. 5 yr warranty, and Exped sent a new one no questions asked. Good service.

I seem to just have bad luck with anything inflatable. 3 backpacking pads also had leaks from around the valves this year, and had a couple inflatable backpacking pillows that randomly leak.

If I have issues with the new Exped I'll be looking at Hest for sure.

Water intrusion question. I have zero ide where it could have come in. It rained lightly for about an hour yesterday. When i broke camp, sun shining, warm, im rolling up my exped and the bottom 2 feet, foot end of the bed, was all wet on the bottom. I couldnt for the life of me find where it came in. Anyone else have an issue in that area? Aside from running a hose on the camper, i dont know how to solve this one.

The camper is a year old and this is the second rain its been through that lasted more than 5 minutes.

Yeah I get some water in at the corners, but it ends up on the rails below the two removable end pieces of the bed platform. Never really had water on top of those except dripping from above. Were the side windows zipper up tight? If not I could see some water splashing under the window bottoms and getting under the bed. B
