    Simply navigate to those sensors in the software and tell it what pin you added the inputs to.

    Wiring is easy for all of those as long as you follow the basic instructions for them like use shielded cabling for knock sensors and whatnot. I'm sure you'd be fine there. First thing I would do personally is use the power of your new ECU to switch to coil pack ignition and ditch the dizzy (keep it just for the cam trigger). The tuning is a learning curve but I wouldn't let it intimidate you much, sounds like you're a savvy person in general. If you take an interest in it there are plenty of resources to learn from out there. The Haltech Tuning Tips and Tricks group on Facebook is useful, and there are plenty of capable tuners offering remote tunes in there as well so don't feel you're trapped with one tuner. I don't sell tunes or claim to be a tuner, but I am here to offer advice and I tune my own Tacoma and friends' Tacomas as well. The HP Academy guys are good folks and they have good information if you're interested in that kind of case study/example style learning. There are plenty of other YouTube channels that deal with Haltech products or other aftermarket ECUs (a lot of the information is still applicable). If you're unsure about where to start learning, I'd consider paying for your first tune (not going to suggest from whom) and then studying it and correcting problems with it yourself. Necessity really helps you figure things out fast. I am happy to help however I can, like I said I'm not very far away.

    Unless you plan to run E85 I would say you don't need the fuel comp sensor BTW, it is hard stuff to come by where you live anyway.

    Thank you. My intuition said that is almost definitely how it works for such a flexible device (ECU) but I am totally new, of course, so I wasn't sure.

    That's a great idea! I need to find a Windows machine or use BootCamp Assistant to get Windows on my Mac, though.

    I am wrapping up a couple of projects on my truck but, when those are done, I will be in touch. If you are open to it then I will throw some $$$ your way to help me get everything dialed in. I have never been to Spokane (I moved to Bellevue from NYC about one year ago) so that could be an interesting drive. I have been wanting to see the "desert" in Washington anyway.

    I'd recommend getting a dedicated machine that you can keep with your truck. It pays to travel with the laptop should the need to correct something ever arise. The NSP software isn't demanding, any modern Windows machine no matter how cheap could run it. But more screen resolution is certainly a plus. I tune on a Dell Latitude 7300 Carbon, great battery life, small form factor, and you still get a 1080p screen. I just put it in the seatback pocket.

    Nice, you must be a really late 97 model, most 95-97 2/3RZ trucks have a distributor. Make sure to mention this to SNP otherwise you might get sent the harness for the dizzy model.

    We could make either way work, I go over to that side of the state a lot too.

    RE: ignition coils vs. dist, that has come up many times for me before so it's something I am definitely cognizant of. SNP has a scrupulous intake form so I think it should be OK but you're definitely right to call this out.

    RE: dedicated laptop, I recently learned my employer's IT department sells used machines for uber cheap as a green / recycling initiative so I will probably buy one that way.

    I'm not in need of any more I/O atm so I haven't looked into those yet. But I think the IC7 might be the route I'd go given all of the other fun stuff I get to do with it.

    Nice to see another 3rz SC owner going with Haltech management! :cheers:

    Gabe did a lot of the initial heavy lifting for me with the tune, but I still had to do a lot of the fine tuning and small stuff myself afterwards. My truck would not start with the "base" tune he provided. So imo don't expect to be able to drive it right off the bat after installing the HT. It's definitely a big learning curve & frustrating at times, but it's a lot of fun and I'm a lot more confident and familiar with EFI tuning now.

    I had to modify the harness I got from SNP because the A/C signal wire was wired incorrectly. Not hard to do, but sounds like you're familiar with harness work so that shouldn't be that big of a deal. The connection on the adapter side of the harness is epoxied in place so you're not able to repin any of the connections there which is annoying. Because of that, I had to splice into my OEM harness to correct the A/C wiring.

    During your HT install, I would also strongly recommend removing the SC and tapping one of the intake runners to install the air temp sensor so it's after the charge air.

    Are you planning on doing high boost after the HT install?

    I am not totally sure. I am installing a new fuel pump and FPR soon so, with larger injectors, I probably could install the 58mm pulley on my SC, as well as a progressive methanol injection kit just to keep the IAT low(er).

    Additional boost aside, what concerns me right now is how the factory ECU fights to keep the AFR at 14.7 except in WOT. I find it a little disconcerting that you could rise into the 2-3.5 lbs. boost region, for instance on the highway, yet still have an AFR of 14.7. My truck dips down to 10-10.5 AFR when in WOT, which is good but obviously too rich. Or, similarly, the AFR goes down to 10-10.5 on hills while on the highway in fifth gear, irrespective of WOT or not, which I presume has to do with load on the engine.

    Right now, my plans are as follows in order:
    - Upgrade fuel system (FPR, fuel pump - currently in progress)
    - Add steel tube bumpers (currently in progress)
    - Re-gear the truck from 3.58 to 4.56 or 4.88 with bigger tires (265 -> 295 or 305) and rear locker (probably TrueTrac or Grizzly)
    - Haltech 1500 ECU, probably with smaller SC pulley, progressive methanol injection, and larger injectors

    You should purchase the wideband module for the Haltech Elite 750, it will give you AFR readouts but more importantly it will give the Haltech AFR information.

    Good plan of attack. I did basically the same thing before installing my SC other than the regear and armor which I already had.
    If you're a manual, I would recommend going to 4.88 gears with that target tire size. My cruising RPM's were at like 2850 at 75-80mph or so iirc when I was on a 295 tire.
    I did the methanol kit from SNP as well. Definitely helps with the boost performance. Although FYI it's only a regular methanol kit currently. I bought the progressive, but Gabe found that we currently can't implement the progressive part of it due to software limitations or something like that.

    Yea don't get me started. Implementing the water meth kit seemed like sort of an afterthought/untested with the 3rz kit. I had to wire in another relay to the main pump relay so it wouldn't run the pump, dumping water meth into the intake, when I turned the truck off.

    You switched to it over standard transient?

    Also under vehicle information section there's a new dropdown to select turbo, supercharged, or NA... dunno what it's using that information for but it's there now.

    Ya it also alerted me this is Natural Aspiration (still boosted fine). I went into the drop down and selected turbo.

    I only messed with it for a short time, but it works pretty well out if the box. I wish I had it when I first started, could have saved a lot of time and focused elsewhere.
