Ah, indeed it is a short bed. I did not realize they did not have a long bed offering. That stinks!

I have on a couple of occasions seen used ones for sale on here and the FB market place. Might try there. Maybe you will get lucky!

Thats really strange. I saw a buddies gator bed mat, and I swear it was slightly thicker than my tacoma mat. They must have totally changed if the case.

Haven't looked into it but the 4th Gen bed is probably different dimensions so they are scrapping the long bed mat since its a less popular configuration. Just a guess, could be totally wrong.

thanks for sharing that info - helps others. there are some definite red flags in the pics.
just for fun (i am happy with my DeeZee mat) i googled stall mats and notice you can color match! still does not say "tacoma" though. :D
not recommending since i know nothing about it other than website, just a feature i never thought of.
    https://www.americanfloormats.com/14-thick-rubber-roll-matting
if you look around on that site you can get 1/2" thick too. these are pretty inexpensive...again i have no experience with them.

I bought a TSC stall mat recently to cut to shape for my John Deere Gator dump bed, and it didn't have any wires in it. Guess I got lucky and got a new old stock mat.

Had the same issue when I took a large steel sink, and steel cabinet to the local recycling ctr this noon. Figgin tacoma mat bunched up under the weight of sliding in that sink combo.

Mat on top is the Gator. Bottom is OEM.

Except, if you call any dealership, the ones who *do* have 'em in stock can't/won't sell because they'll tell you there's a "Stop sell order" in effect...

I actually would NOT get the OEM mat if I could go back in time.

The lettering is too tall. When you slide crap into the truck it always gets hung up on the lettering and design. I hate it, drive me nuts.

I somehow managed to score one from a local dealership a month or so ago, and it's still off gassing, it smells so bad with the shell sealed up.

Your taco mat looks much thicker that the tacoma factory mat that came in my truck. Probably weighs more too. I wonder if toyota uses a lighter bed mat if you have a tonneau cover?....Both were ordered with the truck at the same time.

I bought a used OEM mat from a Gen 2 owner. It’s very likely that the bed mats have gotten thinner over the years. It’s a very common cost cutting measure in the automotive industry.

I was told by a local dealer that the 6 foot Tacoma and some of the Tundra beds won't be available until April 2024 because of a Natural Disaster at the supplier. He was reading from some Bulletin. 5 foot bed mats aren't affected.
