Pretty bold of Ford as there is a TON of 2023 inventory on dealer lots still. They are even discounting Raptors below MSRP near me.

Can't build them with laid off workers, and those F-150s wil cost even more if pay rates go up.

I wouldn't mind having an Azure Gray Raptor at $20k off, I don't want the R or the 37s just the 3.5 with beadlocks.

No, after the disappointment with my 2016 I installed it on my 2020 OR soon after I purchased it. Worth every penny.

What does that cost in Alabama? If you buy the black 2024 Pro, I would highly recommend it.

I’ve been coating since my 2015, my 2016 was black and wife’s new black RX is and ppfd and coated. My 2022 for full front with STEK and cquartz uk set me back $2200.

Avalanche is a nice color probably looks best on the Raptor. The Raptor interior is well appointed, I like the blue interior I guess it's suede. I'd like a Raptor with a more commercial interior, something like a Custom Trail Boss I'd still want the nicer wheels and lights.

    Yikes!
Is this a protective paint coating?
That's pretty hefty for a coating, however I guess it depends on how good it works ... hopefully it works so good you never have to wash it. Lol

PPF and coating my friend, was actually a steal, includes the paint correction as well. Full front which was hood, quarter panels, a pillars, headlights, mirrors and grill.

And people will still buy both models. I started selling Ford in 2007 and a fully loaded Lariat stickered at $45,000. Today you can't get a Supercrew 4x4 XL for that. A Lariat starts at $64,995 (adjusted for inflation that 2007 F-150 is $66,600 so quite a price bump. Then you start ticking boxes and it's $77,000.

I never would have imagined. Back in 03 when I paid $18000 for my access cab Tacoma I was thinking to myself that's way too much money for a pickup truck. I was also eyeing up the FJ cruiser in 02.... they wanted about $21k and I said NO WAY am I paying that much for that thing......now 20/20 hindsight I could have sold it for as much as I paid for it had I kept it in good shape.

Money doesn't even mean anything today... it's all an illusion. We have become so comfortable living behind the 8 ball in debt that 30k, 60k, 90k, 250k of debt doesn't even phase people. Folks just don't care... we no longer save for things then buy them..... we buy them and make payments because we lack the discipline as a society to earn things....WE WANT IT NOW! AND WE'RE GOING TO GET IT!

It's not good for folks like me.. I don't belong here anymore.... I can see cash slowly diminishing... people make it like cash is a pain to deal with anymore.. it's a scary posture.

What's a basic pickup truck going to cost 20 years from now? $75k?

When I was a kid a million dollars seemed like an unachievable goal and that you would be rich for the rest of your life if you could somehow earn that kind of money. Now it ain't squat..

Remember when you could buy a cell phone and own it outright? I have an acquaintance who rents to own his phone because he's the "gotta have the newest tech" person. He pays $42/mo just to rent his damn phone!
Even worse is phone companies know this and when my old phone died I upgraded to a newer model (not newest), and it was cheaper to "finance" the phone than outright purchase it ($180 over 2 years versus $599 if I paid cash for it). What is that teaching anyone on saving?

The problem is, the definition of "basic" has changed. New cars/trucks have significantly more safety and comfort/convenience features that everyone expects to be standard.

If you could delete SafetySense for $500 or Apple CarPlay for $200, would you do it? Most people wouldn't.

If truck design is art, then the Gen4 Tacoma is a Gen3, as if it were interpreted by Picasso.

If you appreciate the timeless clean lines of say, Gen1, then a Gen4 is an undecipherable mess. Gen1 Taco’s somehow didn’t require extraneous bulges to be tough; just slap some A/T’s on it and it was (and still is).

However, we’re in a design era where even Subaru’s, Mazda’s, and Honda Pilots(!) are trying very hard to look like they can traverse Moab, so the “rugged” design cues with each redesign need to be dialed to ten. That growing fanbase absolutely loves Gen4 and will continue to buy every one built. Not disclosing what group I would fall into…
