Sleep always feels like a waste of time for me. If I didn't have my wife I would probably be burning myself out a lot because I don't know when to quit. I feel like I played video games a lot before the Tacoma in my early 20's but now my focus is always on projects in the shop whether its maintaining the bike or truck or making the space better. I also think I was too broke in my early 20's for much else besides video games and snowboarding in the winter. The garage, camping, riding, and wheeling has become my sole outlet. And the riding aspect has far surpassed the wheeling aspect as far as energy usage. The stoke of constantly honing my skills keeps me going.

Right on! Do it while you still can. Getting old sucks and I don’t recommend it to anyone.

Only 30 but also a desk jockey...hoping to change that soon though.

I don't necessarily need physical activity, but I do need mental stimulation. Whether that's riding, doing physical work/maintenance on the bike, playing piano or videogames, watching an engaging/well written movie/show, walking/playing with my dog, or cleaning my guns. I just need something to fill the empty space in my head or else I start overthinking/overanalyzing and get wrapped up in that vs productive things I actually need to do lol.

I unfortunately echo @cynicalrider 's position on sleep feeling like a waste of time lol. If it were up to me, the sun would never set and my "sleep" would just be short naps sprinkled throughout the day.

Really hoping CA finally got rid DST this year...

I remember a comment from a conversation with a Military Doc., back when I was in my mid 30’s.

Him: You might be 35 years old on paper, but physically, you are 74 with the beating to you body.

    Me: Well, ALLLL-righty then.

Currently 53 with a broken body, and still going at it the best I can.

Mine is a 2008 (first year) Versys 650 with 48k miles on it. I doubt I'd get any more than $3k max for it.

I want to get a sport bike because my friends/riding buddies have sport bikes and while I'm not looking to be the fastest on the twisty roads (I go pretty slowly), my bike is just completely out of its element. Every time I trade with my friend's KTM I'm amazed at how relaxed I can ride while pulling away from my Versys with my friend going as fast as he can on it. Just being able to keep up with friends would be nice. They also go to the track quite a bit so coordinating logistics wouldn't be as hard (plus I have my own truck and equipment), and I'm really itching to go to the track to hone my skills for the street.

Most of our weekend riding is about 120 miles with a lot of stopping and breaks, so I think I could handle the uncomfortable ergonomics.

I did see this FJR (non ES) which is a lot more local:

I think the whole "growing up and being an adult" thing has been a scam.

I'll turn 61 in November and back in June joined a gym and started working out. Been trying to walk a lot more since January. Down about 15 pounds so far would like to shed 15 more but doing it right so it stays off. Age sneaks up on you so prevent it as long as possible

You guys are youngsters, I'll be 50 in January. I turned wrenches in Baltimore city for 27years & was a weight lifter for about 10 of those years. When I wasn't at work or the gym i was wrenching on project cars & trucks or riding motorcycles & dirtbikes. I was always busy. I had minor back surgery last year due to sciatic nerve pain down my right leg. Now I'm enjoying the quiet cabin life in beautiful WV. I still do alot of trail riding but it's mostly in SxS's. No matter how old I get being in the woods makes me feel like a kid again.

I think food breaks are a waste of my time. But also, I resonate with "ill sleep when Im dead". Im all over the place.

Newest research hobby? Getting interested in a tig welder.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I have a similar issue, which is why I go by the blind key grab method. All my bike keys are in a bowl, I rummage around in there without looking. This keeps me on my toes for maintenance and keeps the fluids moving. Sure it makes no sense, but that’s the beauty of it.
