All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
You putting a rear bumper on that fj60?

I also find eating to be a waste of my time. IE sitting down for a meal at the dinner table and focusing on just that. I have to multitask, or skip the meal altogether. Like any long drive/ride I have, the only times I stop for bathroom/food is when I need to get gas, if it's up to me.

Makes it hard to ride or road trip with certain people sometimes lol.

I have long wanted to get into welding....just other things (like bikes) take precedence

just got paid to ride around for 2 hours and record some documents for the county, it's Friday and life is good  (sorry if it seems like I'm rubbing it in for you guys who don't have as many opportunities to ride lol)

My quadlock is perfectly angled to capture me and absolutely nothing else

Yall just reminded me! I RODE TO WORK TODAY! Which means I get to ride home! haha

FYI, they do make estart kits for ye ole BEAST that is the 650R!

Totally get ya there. HMMMM.... what sport bikes you thinking of? If you have the room, keeping the Versys as your long distance and commuter beater bike and a sport bike for weekend warrior and track blasting seems like a great option.

God that sounds like an amazing "problem" to have. A bowl of keys sounds so epic haha

Im looking for anything under $5k. I have a Kawasaki and have had several Honda's and R6s seem to have a steep premium so I’m looking at GSXR600/750s. Problem is they don’t seem to have the best owners in terms of maintenance…

Suspension alone was worth 3k. Got to love some Ohlins tuned suspension.

I might stop by because that happens to be my local dog park anyway. I just happened to be there when they had the event last year and it was nutty to see a mob of 40 or so groms buzz by on the street.

Speaking of mini bikes. I'm surprised no on here has said anything about the new electric Ninjas. The ZE-1 naked one looks like it could be a fun electric grom replacement, even if it is more full-sized. The E-1 with the fairings doesn't seem like it'd have a high enough speed to be worth it, but with the naked being more.. well.. grom like. I could dig it.

    highlights:
    - two removeable batteries (i.e. charge inside)
    - 55mph top speed w/ 65mph "15 second boost mode"
    - 41 mile range in road mode, I'd imagine closer to 20 at top speeds, with more in eco mode (disappointing AF, but hey for commutes it could work, especially if re-charging on work's power outlets)
    - it has reverse, which could be weirdly handy

Both are around $8K and out this year.

My CB500X cost just under $8K OTD, so I couldn't justify the price. Near 300 mile range, will run 80 MPH, 60-70 MPGs if sub 70 MPH. Electric motorcycles are just too costly for the limits they impose, IMO.

that seems remarkably incapable for any use that isn't light commuting very short weekend rides?

I could see it being viable for downtown/city folk that don't really go too far, or for someone with a real short commute, but otherwise idk what niche it would fill. Would it even be highway legal with a 55 max and 65 boost mode?

I'd also be curious to know how long it takes to charge. I'm not opposed to electric motorcycles, but idk if this one is it. Those Damon motorcycles are very capable....but pricey...like entry level Ducati territory lol (excluding the Monster)

Ooh that sounds perfect. I'm not opposed to a sporty naked bike (I learned to drag knee on an FZ-09). Aprilia Tuonos are also interesting but I think maybe too powerful for what I want.

I'm trying to not be a hater but man these look terrible. No engine sound or vibration, no shifting gears (both EV issues in general) but also terrible range, terrible top speed and still a high price? I can't think of a single scenario where one of those would be better than a Grom (since it can't go on the highway) or Ninja 400 or something.

Yeah high price and LOW range of e motos makes them pretty much just a publicity stunt. The general consumer will go ok I can buy a moto same or less that can do highway + speeds at 60+ mpg. Why would I buy that ninja.

Inner city commuting. Ok. Maybe. I do like how they have easy removable batt that you can take inside to charge.

That stated. Innovation is a good thing. But the EV push is uh.... Ill-intended. Now... Something like what Edison motors is doing with their heavy duty semi truck... That's going to be the key. Essentially a locomotive drivetrain (electric drive motors, small generator) with additional a battery park and plug in charging.
