Yea might be a little more than I want to do solo with the kids. If y’all decide to go next week or weekend sometime I may try and join. Sunset rock is just a little service road just outside of downtown highlands. It’s usually just a gravel path but they hasn’t done any maintenance for a couple of years so it got too rough for cars. I’m late spring we went up there not knowing it had gotten rough. Had atrac kick in once lol. I’ll try and find the name of the road. It’s probably half a mile at most. Drive up, turn around and drive down.

Edit: sunset rd. Just down from the highlands nature center. Nice little overlook of the town.

 

I lived at the Quaterdeck Apts in a 1 bedroom for $600 15 yrs ago now they are $1900 and they were shit then…..

Oh! Yeah I have been there. Close to the top if you go right it's a private gate entrance right? That's if I'm thinking about the same spot. We've gone up there and walked around the nature center. It's pretty cool too. I'd definitely be up for taking a group trip. My truck has been making this crazy rattle noise and I was a little worried about it. I was supposed to go do the GA traverse this weekend but didn't because I was afraid I have something seriously wrong. So when I get that sorted out I'm all for a trail ride.

 

Yep I think we’re talking about the same place! The nature center is one of our favorite places to just go for a walk. I love all the pitcher plants that are just doing work around there. Not something I really expected to see the first time I went.

 

Yeah. It's a pretty neat place. But the waterfall I sent mentioned before you can get to easily. Its just a dirt road.

 

We haven’t been to that one yet so we may check it out. We usually do silver run and whiteside when we’re up there. The kids have yet to make it all the way up whiteside un-aided. Maybe they will this time lol.

 

What age are your kids? We have 5. Oldest 17 and youngest is 8 months. Then the middle ones are 16, 14, and 11
