*found the lower control arm was bent which is why they couldnt align right. The rough ride was due to a bad wheel bearing on front passenger side.*

    Hey there,

I just bought new tires and had them balanced. Noticed passenger front side had a rough and loud bumpy ride around 40 mph. So I got an alignment at town faire. They said the front camber bolts were maxed.

I'm hoping to find help with diagnosing and fixing the rough ride as it is terrible and I'm worried about the tires and finding why the camber bolts are maxed. All suspension is stock.

The picture of the camber bolts is the passenger front side.

Your alignment is out of spec, but that’s not causing a rough and bumpy ride. I think you have 2 issues: a bad alignment and an out of balance or over inflated tire. These are guesses based on very limited info.

Thank you for the reply, I've had them balanced twice but to no avail.

Have you checked the air pressure?

TBQH, I don’t know how you isolated a “rough and bumpy ride” to a single corner.

I would say they didn't do alingment right as those are stock sized tires. And check tire pressure too.

Air pressure are all matching and in spec. I can feel the bumping coming from the passenger front side around 40 mph. I'm not too crazy mechanically savvy so I apologize for the lack of info

They weren't able to fix the camber because it was "maxed"

Can you give us details on the tires (manufacture, type, size, www link) and air pressure? Have you made any other mods to the truck? How have you driven it? Has it been aligned before?

Cooper AT3 4's, Air pressure at 44 psi.
Mostly highway driving with no suspension mods, just lights on the truck and a roof rack. It has been aligned before and has been fine when previously done.

The web page you linked says you have a SL (standard load) tire. 44 psi is overinflated for a SL tire. Spec is about 30 psi. Toyota’s recommended psi is on your door jam I think. That could be causing a rough ride.

Personally I run 30-32 psi in my winter SL a/t’s and 36-38 psi in my LT e-load mud terrains. The LT mud terrains ride like a dump truck in comparison to the SL all-terrains, but they shine in the dirt when aired down.

defiantly try tire pressures, 44 psi is probably high,,,, to way too high.

You got the ol’ toe and go. They adjusted the toe and didn’t touch anything else. Look at your before and after. Camber and caster are exactly the same.

Brought the psi down to 32 all around, the problem is still there. It's a consistent bumping roughness around 40 mph. If this helps too it goes away when i turn the wheel left like on a slight turn.

Are you saying 10 psi (42-32) made no difference in your ride quality? i think you might be ultra focusing on a singular issue.

In any case, i can’t diagnose “a consistent bumping roughness around 40 mph” because it’s too subjective.

Yes, I've had people tell me it might be a wheel bearing possibly

Your caster/camber bolts are pretty well rusted. I wouldn't be surprised if they are fully seized. That is likely why they didn't adjust your caster/camber. I would be looking at new ones if it were my truck. They look terrible for it being a 2018. Rust belt?

Edit: On top of that your cam tabs look partially flattened out.

try rotating your tires and see if the problem moves.
