Be patient with it. I picked most of mine off with patience and a hair dryer. For the last little bit of sticky, I bought a spray bottle of Goof Off and took my time spraying and wiping it down with a rag and some paper towels. Good Luck!

95% of it should come off with your fingers. Heating it up with a hair dryer first will make it softer and easier to remove. Any remaining goo that is left can be removed by applying a little Goo Gone:
Let it sit for a few minutes and then gently use a soft microfiber cloth, (along with more heat from hair dryer if necessary), and rub clean from the paint. Take it easy, and you may have to go through the "soak,heat,rub...soak,heat,rub" process a few times.
***Important*** (More likely than not, you will get small swirl scraches if you don't use heat if needed, don't use some sort of "goo gone" product, or apply too much pressure when rubbing).

...and continue to use a clean portion of your mircofiber cloth when the spot your rubbing with gets all gluey. It's the glue that's now on your cloth (that if you continue rubbing with) that will create the swirl mark scrathes. ***especially in darker color paints***

first thing i see is looks like when you heated it up you pulled it off you should have used a small string it wouldn't have left that much on there. i might be wrong on what i said so don't blast me for it. and yes goo gone is good, wd40, and bug and tar remover and yes i would put a coat of wax on those spots after you get all the glue off

actually i did heat it up with a hairdryer and then used fishing string behind it...not blasting you or anything but it is a 97 and does sit outside everyday so the glue was kinda old so yeah it left quite a bit...

most of the rest of that old tape.....just kinda roll it off/pick it off with your fingers......then use a little goo gone and a microfiber towel to get the rest of it off. my 04 was about the same way. after you are done.........wash the area a bit, then use a little wax over top of it! if you are putting emblems back on....dont use wax......wash the area with some dish soap, then put the emblems back on.

you can try overtons.com, or check a boating supply store if you got one close by. i havent been to clover in so long, im not sure what all they have there now. and you'll need a 4 inch deckplate.
