The rear seats seems more confined than current 3rd gen.
My son didn’t even climb in the rear

In the pictures and videos of the back seat it appears it sits up higher, almost like stadium seating.

Looking at the cab from the outside it looks like Toyota made the front row of the interior more spacious borrowing space from the back row. The seats also look more plush in the rear taking up additional space.

Surprised, considering Toyota added more than 4 inches between the front & rear wheels.

Guessing maybe longer thigh cushions up front & rear bench?

I have not seen any discussion of the full time 4wd with a locking center diff on the Limited. Is this a new type of 4WD? I'm assuming that the locking center diff locks the front and rear wheels, drive together, and not all 4 wheels at one time. I am going to get an Off-Road, but I must say, having full time AWD in the rain sounds pretty nice, especially with how easy my current Tacoma spins the rear wheels when it is raining. The torque of the new motor, especially the hybrid will be much higher. It cant be as strong or s good of old school 4WD with a rear locker, but it sounds interesting.

It appears they are catering to the needs of the domestic market. I count 3 cupholders in that passenger side door.

Are people actually dumb enough to leave a $3K non refundable deposit on a truck that doesn’t have a price yet? The dealer can charge whatever they want/ add whatever markups they can dream up and you have to take it or lose your $3K.

That has got to be the busiest door panel I have ever seen. There are so many angles going every which way. Why????

Not sure if that's just a typo or you have really bad memory, but the FJ Cruiser didn't go on sale until 2006.

For shits and giggles, here were the lowest starting MSRPs for Toyota's Trucks/SUVs in mid 2006:

    4Runner: $28,015
    FJ Cruiser: $22,545
    Land Cruiser 100: $63,200
    Sequoia: $34,150
    Tacoma: $14,280
    Tundra: $22,290

Cheapest grade available, 4Runner has gone up less than any others (LC and FJ no longer available, obviously).

Yup! Thats been my biggest complaint since day 1. It's so obtrusive. I don't understand how anyone wants that in a vehicle.

I did get a good laugh over this interior picture though. I'm counting almost 50 buttons between the dash/steering wheel/console. THere's so much going on. It's actually funny when you step back and take a look at it.

Toyota says they pushed the front suspension components forward, I don't know if that's where the entire 4" went. The front of the cab looks like it's longer providing more front seat leg room. The dash looks deeper and larger over all taking up more room. That space the dash occupies isn't usable room and there looks to be more footwell room. There probably haven't been many requests for rear passenger room from customers.

Your correct it was 2007 when I started looking at FJs, not sure why I put 02. By 2012 I wound up buying a genesis coupe. For the same price I could have scooped up an FJ and still been driving it. I sold that coupe and used the money to put down on my 3rd gen. I won't be playing musical vehicles for a while now.
