According to the 2022 JD Powers Initial Quality Study, "initial vehicle quality notably declined" the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Compared with 2021 results, warranty issues increased by 11% per 100 vehicles. But not all were effected equally. Toyota was still above average in quality. As long as your truck had all the vaccines and boosters, you'll be fine. It's those anti-vaxer trucks you want to avoid.

my truck never got covid but it does drink too much

 

The only issue with my ‘21 was the creaky clutch pedal that I correctly diagnosed before my first of five appointments to fix it. If you get one and end up with that minor irritant of a problem, just have a local shop put some wheel bearing grease on the connection to the master cylinder. They skimped on the lube at the factory.
