Still pretty hot down here in Florida, daytime temps in high 80's evenings have been low to mid 70's. Been seeing decent amount of doe but the bucks are staying nocturnal. Finally cooled off but breezy this am about 67 when I got in the stand. Had a spike step out at 70 yds nice little basket 4 point at about 0730. I bleated at him to see what he'd do, he just looks at me. Hit it again, and he slowly walks off. On my lease bucks have to be 3 points on on side and even with the ears, he was neither so on he went. Good weekend of hunting though, enjoyed the heck out of it....

Cell phone pic this early morning on my way to a logging job start up. Couldn't zoom in any more and I tried to video him as he ran across the bean field....didn't work and not sure why (tech. impaired user!!!).

Anyway, his antlers are way outside his big ass!!!PXL_20231011_112923950.MP (1).jpg

My shot of him running directly away - so you could see the antler spread - didn't work. SORRY!!!

Guess I need to start carrying my 35mm digital camera with the zoom lens on sitting next to me on the passenger seat???

That’s a wide boy! I’ve got one like that in my neighborhood that I wish I could smoke. He’s damn near tame and old as shit so it feels unfair

Saw nothing except skeeters today, I knew better than to go but I was just sittin around anyhow.

But....when I was leaving I made a quick loop around some other public stuff, saw a really good one that had just crossed a gravel road from public to a private bean field. He was an 8 but was like 4" past his ears on each side with dark chocolate antlers. My buddy is gonna get in there this weekend since I'll be working and the (forecasted) wind should be perfect.

    :notsure:

We have 50% Friday, suppose to get cooler next week. :fingerscrossed:
I got some days off coming up and I'd prefer not to spend them smackin at skeets.
