Other than thinking they don't need to pay federal taxes, I'm not sure what the "benefit" is. In a conversation last night, there was mention of "freedoms". I asked her, "what freedoms are there that I don't have" and there wasn't really a response.

 

Digging in deeper than that is delving into politics.

only freedom she gets, being a woman, is not having to sign up for selective service at 18. Women don’t have to sign for it, but are still entitled to get any and all benefits from the government that a man who doesn’t sign up would never get.

 

I really don't see what the point of selective service is. It's not like the gov doesn't know where we live.

I have a co worker who is deep into this. I don’t fully understand it, but he talks about how everything is a contract, and that we are employees of the corporation of the United States, and that everything is already paid for even before we buy it. Cars, Trucks houses etc. And that the government makes money off of our SS numbers.

Certain documents have our names in capital letters, our last name first, all means different things legally.

That's just another spin on "Sovereign Citizens" movement. It's a fringe interpretation of citizenry that not recognized by anybody that matters. I sometimes watch the crazy traffic stops on YT and they occasionally get a "sovereign" citizen that claims they don't a DL nor insurance to operate on public roads, also the police have no authority to question them. You can bet taxes are high on the list of "I don't need to do" things. It's pretty comical to watch them play that card, they flash BS documents (they all carry them) which do exactly nothing but put them at the top of the crazy list.
