its only 1” longer, extended rod ends are common with links because you have to make sure that your could seat clears the top of the link at full droop. I’ve already took a quick look at the math with a tape measure and as you slide the CO back it just doesn’t look like you gain anywhere near 2.6 inches which means you would loose up travel.

Im going to take off my straps and bumps next weekend and cycle it and i’ll take a lot of photos to share. The real puzzle is maintaining a high bump point ie: the goal being the bottom of the frame so you don’t sacrifice critical uptravel. I think my ride height is pretty average & I have 9” from axle to frame.

Mainly because I’m poor and couldn’t afford the extra shocks when I did the back half.

I only have a 1” extended rod end so i just don’t see the math working out

I have a question for those fellow LT folks that have done a Tundra rack upgrade to their 2nd gens. I have heard that there have been failures in the past from over deflection. Before I drop the money on one I had to ask the owners who know.
Pictures would be nice if possible, a simple explanation of failure cause as well, if possible, please and thank you.

The list of rack upgrades I am considering.
    1) Tundra rack
    2) JD fab steering slide
    3) Toyota Series 200 LC
And yes I am also going to upgrade my pump to a Howe system ( JD Fab)

had my tundra rack for two year so far with zero issues so idk how people are breaking them. I also don’t rock crawl and have full heim steering.

I’m very familiar with the intricacies of making shocks fit for on specific applications. Let’s have a productive conversation about the different setups offered. I’m not trying to disprove your setup. Im more interested in keeping an open mind of other setups that will work as well.

What’s your frame height measured on the frame right in front of where the front leaf spring perch used to be? A 1” extended eyelet isn’t universal, do you know you eyelet length from center of heim to where the shaft threads in?

fair point, bypasses are frickin expensive, I ended up buying used to save like 2k, that and the 9+ month lead time last year…

No reason you couldn’t just set the truck up on coils and add the bypasses later
Assuming you knew the length of the bypass extended and collapsed to make your shock tower

I’ve got bypasses because the leafs. I’d need coil overs. If I had to budget it I’d reuse the current bypass and then upgrade later. But yeah. Still short like $2k for shocks.

Including the cost of the truck? I doubt it - man that's about what I have including the price of the truck  How much of that is paying for install / labor costs though?

I thought about it but Steve from dirt designs said I would probably overheat the shit out of the oil running in the desert on a regular 2.5” shock only.

And I refuse to add up what’s into mine…lol

“Friends” made me add it up a few years ago. Including cost of the truck brand new in 2011 I’m $85k ish. Including iterations of suspension. So start to finished product realistically closer to $65-70k if you ex nay the mid travel years.

Edit: that is including the price of the truck which was $38k new.

Honestly 30% of that cost is labor because I lack fabrication skills. So call it 20k in parts + cost to have Harry set up my truck. These are the big cons to living in an apartment and not having friends with workspaces.

At least the money was well spent. I’ve seen guys on here and on ig pay that much and have to completely redo the entire truck.

Greetings warlords, I have an almost support vehicle question. I'm researching hitch mounted cargo baskets, or bumpers. I have a stock 5gen 4runner. I am specifically interested in something with enough capacity to carry two wheels cargo off the rear. Browsing casually, I haven't seen pics of such a setup. I'm new to hitch cargo.

Do hitch cargo baskets exist, can they load 300+ lbs, do they require drilling and fab work?
