My daughter has a ginger long hair named mango too. He has a super tiny little squeek of a meow.

So, some plans changed "adopting" the cats that my little niece needed to find homes for.

I was supposed to get 2x little kittens about 6 months old, they are brothers, but there was 2x female cats from another litter and one in particular was getting bullied BAD by her own family female cat.

Now mind you, when I say "family female cat" I'm meaning not a stray if you will. The other cats she was trying to find homes for were litters from strays that had them under her house and she just took care of them while they are growing up. Her husband grew up with cats and is a super good guy.

Anyways, my niece couldn't find a home for the two female cats both about 1.5yrs old now. I told her what would be the fate of one of the brothers if I was to only take the one because I don't want him ending up in a shelter or even a rescue. A rescue would be better, but that is besides the point as I just wanted the cat to "be safe" and have a good loving home for sure.

So, her husband wanted the one brother because he started getting attached to the little guy and I took the other brother. I told my niece just as long as you take the other brother I will take the badly bullied cat. When I say "bullied" she told me stories that made my heart break she was being bullied that bad and there wasn't all that much that could be done really. :(

So, a very long story short, I ended up taking the one brother and the bullied cat.

Here is the most recent picture of the one brother and he got attached to me really quick. The little turd is a handful and loves hanging out with me up to a point where it can be very annoying at times because he just LOVES sticking his head in my way, for example, when I am washing the dishes... it's extremely hard to wash dishes with a cat's head in the way let me tell you!!! o_O:rolleyes::annoyed::rofl::rofl::rofl:
    IMG_20231001_143502745.jpg

I had just moved recently and as I'm putting back together my electronics hobby work bench, I named him "Beethoven", he decided to see what I was doing and hopped up there.:annoyed::rofl::rofl::rofl: I call him the devil spawn!!!:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Here is Beethoven hanging out with me and watching me unpack.:jpow:
    IMG_20230919_180355236.jpg

Here is the cat that was being bullied. My niece never gave her a name and she's already over a year old, but I kind of get it. Anyways, I named her "Pearl" and she is such a beautiful girl!! Here she is recovering from being fixed and I will post up better pictures.
    IMG_20230922_095202.jpg
    IMG_20231003_125803.jpg
    IMG_20230921_195906.jpg

Right now, I have them separated to get acquainted, if you will, because they don't really fight, but definitely hissing and Beethoven is the aggressor. These two, believe it or not, grew up with each other. They've only been separated for 2 to 3 months, but Beethoven acts as if he's never seen her in his life??? o_O

So anyways, I watched some YT videos on how to introduce cats and it seems to be working, but it will take a few days I'm sure and they had even mentioned that in the video.

But yeah, I now have Pearl and she has the most beautiful soul, but so scared because of what had happened to her being very bullied and now thrown into a brand new environment. She is warming up to me pretty quick though too. She LOVES "making biscuits" when I pet her now and it's only been just over a day since I've had her. So I'm very happy about that and I want her to know and understand she is safe now and no longer is going to be bullied although Beethoven isn't helping much being a "team player". :rolleyes:o_O I mean, it isn't that bad, but the little guy could be a bit more welcoming and he even "knows" Pearl.

My theory, I think Beethoven is so attached to me, he sees Pearl as a "threat"???

Finally, there already seems to be progress between the two and as I typed this, they met each other... under the door... but still, they could smell each other and no hissing. So I feel there is progress there.:fistbump:

Good deal, how and why we rescued our one cat Miles. He was getting bullied too. Our new cat is similar and slowly getting adjusted to dogs but they are starting to do better. My one dog is like Beethoven lol. Good on you for saving them.

Here is my "other cat" named Tegriessa. My sister now has her. That is a long story in of itself, but I took Tegriessa in after my brother had passed away. Nobody was willing to take her in and at the time, I lived in a place where I couldn't have pets, but I convinced the lady I rented the room from to please let me take Tegriessa in and she let me considering the circumstances.

Anyways, my sister now has Tegriessa so it's not like I don't see her. My sister has two dogs and they get along very well and even chase each other.

But yeah, Tegriessa has the sweetest soul as well. I'm glad I took her in when she needed help instead of very likely ending up in a shelter in AZ where my brother lived and I live in CA.

The most recent picture of Tegriessa at my sister's house.

Well, yesterday I go into the back room to feed the brats and all quiet, no one comes for the food. Very strange! I go and look and they're all gone! Being the nice guy that I am, I left the back patio door ajar with the big screen firmly in place. Well, the brats squeezed through the open door and broke the screen at the bottom and snuck out.

Fast forward to today, they were all up on the porch waiting for me to open the door and let them in. They looked remorseful except the Tortie Myrtle. I bet she was the ringleader.

Anytime we have a door open like that particularly a slider we have to put a baby gate in the track to keep the little aholes from tearing a hole through the screen.

We had the front door open last night. My wife comes out asks me where the cat is. I told her had no clue, he was laying by his food dish 5 minutes ago. We found him, he was sleeping under the kids bed in the far back corner, if he does go out.... he doesn't go more than 5ft from the door. He has ventured further, just more than 25ft. He has been locked out a few times and he then starts beating on the door like Fred in the Flintstones.

Thats awesome. When ever one of our cats comes back from the vet, the others are all hissy, like they will catch some kind of "have to go to the vets" disease.

This is Cowboy, he's an 8yo Maine Coon, smartest and gentlest cat I've ever owned and I've had my share of felines. He never leaves yard and despite being an indoor cat he prefers to do his business in one specific spot outside, he goes to the door, lets us know it's time and comes right back when he's done, reminds me of a dog. How easy is that, haven't cleaned a litter box in a few years.

Here he's going over the latest TW posts with me and is letting me know there's a couple sporty felines he's eyeballing in this thread.

Welp, Smokie had a name change - he's now known as FAGEN! I put a hook and loop type lock on the backroom door and placed it up high. After hearing/seeing how I open it (door is open a bit 'cause I can't close it all the way) he decided to climb on the cabinet next to the door and try his luck at opening it. Son of a gun he did it, he unhooked the hook and opened the door. He was too high to go through it so he stayed in the room. Lucky that I heard what had happened and fixed the problem - put another hook/eye on the door but way lower so he can't reach either way. :fingerscrossed:
