Groaning Noise in the Rear

Hey everyone, so I’m experiencing a weird groaning noise that sounds like it’s coming from back of the cab on the passenger side. It does the sound with the windows up and down.

My leafs springs do squeak a little bit but oddly enough I noticed when going through a parking garage, the groan/squeak/creak was happening so I rolled the windows down and didn’t hear my leaf springs squeaking but I could hear the groaning noise.

if I had to try to pinpoint it, I would say the sound is coming from like the front eyebolt on the leaf springs or somewhere in the general vicinity. It’s weird because it’s only the passenger side it sounds like.

I have removed everything from behind and under the seats to make sure it’s not anything in the storage compartments. It’s driving me crazy. Does anyone have any ideas? I can try to get a video sometime today.

 

Groaning noise? Hard to know what you are describing without a video, but is this really more of rattle sound given you were suspecting something in your storage compartment? I would think a groaning sound would be associated with a rotating piece of equipment like a bearing or gearbox.

 

I have a groaning sound in my truck as well, but it's more towards the front passenger seat. Seems to correlate with my wife being in the truck.

 

I was thinking this as well but I enjoy life.

Tried to get a video but the sound was too quiet on my phone. I opened the back glass and went through a parking garage just to see if I could hear it. The groan/creak whatever noise seems to be my leaf springs as the noise in the cabin matches up with the squeak of the springs. it’s just super weird to me that I can only hear it on the passenger side. I’ve replaced my leaf springs since I thought it was due to the worn bushing on my old pack and it went away for like a day with the new ones, then came back.

Oh well I guess it’s something I’ll have to live with

Finally got a video. This was pulling out of my inclined driveway (with a slight drop off you can hear in the beginning) then shifting into drive and accelerating.
