You cut the rubber covers, now water can get in

FYI those LED bulbs are obnoxious to oncoming drivers. They don't belong in halogen housings

You could just live with the condensation :notsure: Hell, the $1000 aftermarket quad-projector LED headlights on eBay all have vent caps (i.e. they're vented to atmosphere to equalize pressure).

You literally cut the seals designed to keep the moisture out and as a result of you cutting the water proofing seals, you now have water intrusion. LEDs definitely do not belong in the halogen headlights, whatever company sold you that was more interested in your money than selling you something that actually works.

This thread has everything you need for 2nd Gen headlights, and doesn't cause condensation in your lamps while being substantially higher performing than any PnP LED product could ever achieve.

What you have inadvertently discovered is that your headlights are a collection of individual parts that are designed to work together as a system. Mess with one or more parts of that system and you risk compromising the performance of the entire system.

The rubber boot that you had to cut / modify is the main waterproofing element of the OEM Tacoma headlight using 9003 bulbs. Other bulb types (used by other manufacturers) utilize a twist / lock style bulb base that incorporates an O-ring to seal the bulb. Cutting the seal was probably only part of your problem though. Many drop in LED bulbs are made by (mostly) Chinese manufacturers who know little about lighting and the true functions of the parts of a modern headlight housing. Because of this, many of them don't fit very well in the housing which leaves room for water to get in. Couple that with your modified seal and you have a recipe for water intrusion.

As others have already said, getting rid of the LED bulbs - and replacing the rubber seals - should solve the problem of more water getting in. You'll also make oncoming drivers much happier in the process. And then there's the problem of getting the moisture that's already in your headlights out ...

I replace the rubber covers and can get the moisture out but in the morning there is moisture in it again but it only happens with one headlight not both.

The same thing -- condensation inside the headlamp housing in the mornings and water intrusion during a rainstorm, top outside on driver side -- started on my 2015 Tacoma the other day (running stock H4s and no mods). I was planning to refinish the headlamps prior to this, as they were starting to get hazy. But with a break in the seal, it made my decision easy.

New OEM headlamps on both sides going in now.

I have a set of LED H4s with warm-white 3000K emitters that I'm going to try to shoehorn into the light buckets on my 1962 Triumph TR3B. Taking a lotta amps off the original generator (pre-alternator) will help its driveabilty, and it gets so rarely driven at night (probably 50 miles a year or fewer) that the higher glare truly won't be a significant issue. But as an experiment, I put one of those LEDs in the Tacoma alongside the original H4 and the glare from the LED was obvious just standing in my driveway. Had I been lower and farther downstream it would have been even worse, no doubt. Don't put those LED headlights in place of original halogens -- listen to the sound advice of everyone who's advising against that!

I get that on the passenger side light from time to time. I just pull the bulb out of the housing for a few hours until the condensation dries up.
