Idk why people think there’s ‘mods’ that has to be immediately done on a new truck.

    Read the owners manual.

    Not a mod, but useful.

Salt country you live? Treat the frame next week. Properly.

Fogs? @memario1214 @hotshotoffroad. He has the right lights and a simple harness.

Toyota frames will rot just from someone staring at them too long, or not enough.

on a serious note coastal areas are prone to some rust. But not nearly as bad as northern states where salt, and or brine is used.

I would not tune it if it's brand new because of the whole warranty debate. In the engine failure thread, someone's motor reportedly put a rod through the block and was not covered due to the truck having a tune.

I would do meso tail stage 1 kit, cause those oem turn signals are barely visible. Some good tires and new wheels preferably rrw so you can put a ring when going offroading that way you don't have 2 sets of wheels. Husky liners for sure. Oem bed mat is a must, and lights for the inside of the bed. Lastly swap out candle lights inside for some leds, and rock sliders just in case you ever go somewhere tricky. However, do it at a pace where you can pay off your truck as well it sucks to give these banks our money.

To make it more capable off road. But just for daily driving the trucks don’t need anything

Upgrading the engine "splash guard" with a TRD engine skid makes sense even it not off-roading, just to protect engine against road debris. Full skids made of heavy steel is another discussion completely ... not joking.

I'm not taking it off road, other than perhaps some dirt/gravel roads to camp. But that doesn't mean it doesn't need anything or that I wouldn't want to change anything.

Needing and wanting are 2 different things. I’m not trying to sway you one way or another. I just have a genuine curiosity as to why folk think something has to be changed or modded for regular use.

Drive the truck for a while, find the things that you want to improve and do the mods that meet your needs.
    or
Drive the truck for a while and replace the shit that fails/breaks with better shit.

Where are you all getting your OEM bed mats? Dealer I bought the truck from quoted me $699 for the bed mat. After cleaning out my ears I clarified about 10 times with them--yep, that's the price.

    I found this online:https://www.*****************.com/o...-k2QBQ0kNJ7-_Almq8sP0ZkCEmXRaAVcaAuWFEALw_wcB

Shipping adds another $125!! But if it's really OEM and not a fake it's the cheapest I've found. Now I'm reconsidering a BedRug or Weathertech or something I make myself, but the OEM seems durable and just the right amount of friction to keep stuff from sliding around back there.

    This

Take it from me and many others on this site, it's real easy to get caught up in the modding and start throwing unnecessary money at your truck. Drive it and see what you need it to do, that will tell you what "must have mods" there are.

But i'll second the bed mat and all weather floor mats

    I would also add:
    interior bulb change
window tint for privacy and heat rejection
bed lights if you don't already have any
    dash cam
    hood struts
