That was one of main things I also didn't like. Driving 25mph in our neighborhood would have the rpm's at 2,000 give or take and it sounded and acted just how you described yours did. It was the same at 45mph. The only way I would get around that is to speed up until it would finally shift then let it drop back down in speed. That would work until you slowed down a bit more and the truck would downshift. Then you would have to begin that same dance again. Speeding in a 25 or 45 zone just to get the truck to shift is not something I am willing to do which would be risking a ticket with my CDL, let alone the crap that I'd have to go through at work because of getting a ticket. Big Brown frowns upon that big time.

AWE Exhaust, KARTBOY exhaust hangers, custom 1/0 exhaust grounding, lots of Titanium hardware from my old builds, silly JDM bits from my old Subaru builds, Uniden Bearcat Off Road CB, Firestik 2 w/custom CF mount, custom KARTBOY plate frame with Rigid Ind Spot on ball head mount, Yakima Mega Warrior w/custom CF cross brace. ARP extended studs (not installed yet), Optima Red Top, Siless Insulation in cab. Diode Dynamics LEDs throughout... More titanium fasteners. K&N intake snorkus delete. Greddy hose clamps throughout. DBA 4000XS Brake Rotors. TRD PRO fogs. Dakine Tail Gate Pad. More to come of course.
Finished up my KARTBOY exhaust hanger experiment and found another spot to use up old titanium hardware I have laying around. And yes, I repainted the studs to give my buddy a migraine. :]

After installing my highly custom fabbed RC spacers I got the howl/vibes from front drivers side. Doing ecgs bushing now. Cv came out easy once I got a tire spoon at the right angle

I usually have about 375 or so total miles from a tankful with less than a quarter tank before filling up...this is why I estimate 400...probably closer to 390 but it's wishful thinking.

Dividing total number of miles by tank size gets me this MPG:

    400miles/22gallons= 18.181818
    390miles/22gallons= 17.727272

I've enjoyed the OTT Tune since May 2022...first version 7 and then 8 in Sept 2022.

The Sport's wheel tire setup are slightly heavier than the OR because of the 17" wheels vs 16".

It's best to keep the individual total wheel/tire weight to 36lbs...at least, that's what I was recommended.

I've got just under 25K miles on my Sporty Spice Taco...so when I get to 50-60K miles, I will begin the search for a bigger setup: current 265/65R17 forecast 270/70R17

I installed the pop and lock power Tailgate lock. Routing that wire down the passenger side rail was a complete pain in the ass. So that is the only picture you are getting. I did ziptie it at good intervals. Wow am I glad that job is done too. works great.

I initially thought that was a dumb idea but then saw you did it for your pregnant wife.

Kudos on thinking outside the box and being a good husband!

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. If I’d had been smart enough to do something like this for my wife when she was pregnant, it would have shown up after the kids were born already.

This is what I love the most about this forum is all the great custom ideas to solve every day problems and make the lives of Tacoma owners just a little bit better.

Haha, yea I understand— what’s the point of sliders if you’re going to add steps to it right? :p My wife still loves camping and joins me off roading every once in a while so she knows why I’d want to keep my sliders. She’s also a tiny lady and I got a bit of heat from the 2” lift I did so I most likely will keep this after she gives birth; she’s even mentioned possibly getting another one for the rear for our daughter too while she’s growing up. I’d just pop these off when I plan to do more crazier trails :D

    Thanks! I try!

I was wondering if I was the only one with a gripe like this, but I realized no matter the throttle input, it would hold those gears. yes I forgot about holding 4th around 45mph, wasn't as jerky as 2nd in my neighborhood. The OV tunes and the OTT use the throttle position as a judge to determine to either shorten or lengthen the shift between the gears, seems like KDMax set their base level way too high. I couldn't stand it. I'm not willing to go 35 in a 25 just to get my truck to shift into the next gear, so it was a quick week with that tune before I wrote it off completely. I appreciate there are different tunes out there for everyone, but KDMax was absolutely not for me.
