yep San Diego Tint, 7147 University Ave, La Mesa, CA 91942

took a few cars there in recent years, a corvette, 2 CX5's, the guy does really good work although i wish he had more options for the windshield. he does windshields well no issues there i just wish there were really light % options for the windshield, though i dont see why not. the box of tint film doesnt know what glass its going on.. in any case, i find right around a 30% film is the sweet spot for everything except the windshield =D

Yessir, that is true, all the fabrication aside from the 4" electronic cutout for my exhaust is done so it could be much worse. That being said it is still quite a lot of work to get that MFer out of there since I have to remove the entire core support then I have the access to pull the engine and transmission out as one unit where they can be separated..but yep is what it is, it just really shortened my timeline for doing so.
I really didn't need the extra work at the moment but that's how things go sometimes, lol...

Do you tint your windshield as well? And if so how does that affect your visibility at night?

@Speed Freek my truck windshield currently isn't tinted but i've had a few cars with the windshield done.

so that there's no confusion even though you probly know this.. the % of tint film is the amount of light allowed through, not blocked. therefore..

30% tint is my preferred sweet spot for the entire vehicle - except the windshield basically just as light as possible. nothing darker for the windshield than 70% and 80 is preferred. also, needs to be one of the usual 2-3 known good brands and it has to be the good ceramic stuff. not the oldschool dye-film crap of years gone by (the shit you see turning purple in a year or two at most) and not the middle of the road quality metalized stuff either. the metalized stuff actually interferes with electronics such as your gps and phone. so basically the choice is ceramic or ceramic.

i recently sold a little jaguar convertible that had the windows tinted, as purchased, darker than i normally like them AND the windshield wasn't even done and it was STILL too dark at night, once in a while. not all the time, just every here and there. to the point that i kinda wanted the window down haha. so yeah, 30% is the sweet spot. the 15% and whatnot that some guys put in their cars is too dark. the infrared heat rejection that you get at each % is basically a judgement call, so, yeah.

in california i believe the legal limit is 70% which isn't much at all and the windshield cannot be done at all - one reason to be conservative about having your windshield done. the cop has no way to check the windshield itself, as their gadget requires being put over the exposed edge of say.. a rolled down window. so yeah, that's kinda that. but per the above, don't push it, 70% as a limit, and no darker than, is the way to go.

not going too dark, for years now, has kept me clear of the cops. in this state you cannot have the front windows done at all either. its lame. but of course everyone does, so my solution was always to refrain from being that guy and throw some good 30-35% ceramic on there instead of the 10% that these bros around here use, and call it a day =D

50% on windshield. if anything, cuts down on the "stars", or bright lights, especially from cheapo aftermarket leds in headlights.
    50% on factory "tinted" windows
15% on fronts to match the rears

I initially would have preferred lighter all around like around 35%, but I have grown into the darkness level I have now.

llumar irx, from a place on mission gorge off the I-8. I've used SD tint in la mesa in the past, good work from those guys, wish he had other flavors of tint.

All of our vehicles get tinted and I can't imagine not having it. I would definitely try and not get stuck behind CHP with the windshield done.

Upgrades installed, rear bypasses re-valved, time for the temps to drop and head for a tube turning session. Front is 13-14 inches with full bump roughly 1/2 from inner fender to high misalignment from touching
Cooper @ the Truck Shop did an amazing job.

I don't have mint, but I have visible. A little more money, but better overall plan I think. Unlimited talk, text, and data, and even includes hotspot. Visible is owned by and runs on Verizon's network. Been using it for 2 years and been very happy with it. Leaps and bounds better than Sprint was. And a fraction of the cheapest Verizon plan.

If you do join, using this link we would both get $20 off a month of service.

Check out this page: https://www.visible.com/get/?3qhZLw, it has all the info you need to know about joining Visible. When you use my friend code, 3qhZLw, you’ll get your first month of service for $20-off!

I tried if over three months and didn't find enough benefit to either switch to or keep with my Verizon service. And in most of Anza Borrego Verizon has much better service overall.

    98 Tacoma V8 (LS1) swap
LS1-T56 swap, Z06 ported heads, cam, Titanium valves, Kevlar clutch. Now building a forged stroker (383) and all the ponies! Old setup was rod-knockin on heaven's door...
I had VIsible previously and it wasn't that great for me, went back to Verizon an its way better again..
And I believe that Visible uses the Verizon cell towers but the service was not as good as using the actual Verizon service.
