I think there's something fishy about these tires for three reasons.

    1) Goodyear does not show the Territory tire with kevlar on their website. Their Territory tire description doesn't mention kevlar and includes a photo that doesn't match the Territory tire with kevlar that came on my Tacoma. Tire companies (Discount, Big O, etc) also don't list Territory with kevlar. It's as if it doesn't actually exist.

    2) Warranty information for the Territory is cryptic at best. No mileage is stated for the Territory on Goodyear's website; all other Goodyear all-terrain tires that fit my truck state a mileage warranty. Reading through Goodyear's Highway Auto and Light Truck Tire Replacement Limited Warranty doesn't help.

    3) Despite the kevlar, I sustained a fatal sidewall puncture on my 2nd "off-road" trip which consisted of driving on a relatively well-maintained fire road. I could not recall driving over anything I suspected would have punctured a tire. Perhaps I drove over a hidden nail angled in the perfect direction to puncture the sidewall, or the small rocks were sharper than I thought, but I was shocked to blow a tire on this trip.

Given all the available information, including my own experience, I think these tires are specifically cheaply made for Toyota a) to incentivize purchase of an over-priced road hazard policy from the dealer AND 2) to ensure the new truck owner buys replacement tires within 30,000 miles since these tires don't seem fit to last much longer than that. On that note, I bought a replacement Wrangler Workhorse AT for my blown tire along with a road hazard policy from Discount Tire, and they added my other 3 OEM tires to the road hazard policy. The total cost for this was less than the dealer's over-priced road hazard policy, so I got a better deal, but I have little trust for these tires. Your mileage may vary. Cheers

Yeah that's exactly what I said in my post earlier tonight, looks like you didn't have the opportunity to read it.

I think they are Adventurers with less tread depth. Must be a special for Toyota OEM. Not sure why Goodyear would want their name on them.

Not sure about tread depth but they definitely have a much more aggressive tread pattern on the side.. This past weekend I drove them to the peak of Imogene Pass in CO.. This is a 6 rated trail with tons of sharp rocks.. Only puncture I've had in 17k miles was a nail.

2023 owner here - I just replaced mine after 15k (265/70/R16) as they just don't seem to grip the road even in the dry. Go around a corner a tiny bit aggressive and they shudder and they seem to be like driving on tip-toes if that makes sense.

Got some Toyo Open Country AT3 265/75/R16 (with the 3 peak snow symbol) and the ride is smoother, it feels like it's gripping the road at all times and my MPG has gone up - thank goodness I did this before the real snow arrived!

All tires squeal/shudder when you go around the corner aggressively

I said a tiny bit aggressively - like a couple of mph over - doesn't happen with the new ones

They didn't impress me at all. I ditched mine in 11k km, they were already noticeably worn in the center while running recommended psi.

I wish I would have read this thread before I did what I did. So, I just got my Trail Edition Taco a few weeks ago and while doing some mods I looked at the spare and was surprised to see it's the same tire that comes with the truck. I decided to get a 6th tire and two more TRD beadlock wheels so I could have 3 sets of crappy tires and wheels. After talking to several dealerships and getting the tire I have a little more information about the Goodyear Wrangler Kevlar Territory AT tires.

I have not seen the correct sidewall picture for this tire, including the Goodyear site.
Pricing ranged from $189 to $290
    Toyota PN DT007-70640-GY
    Goodyear PN 734-070-640
    UPC 697662150039

I was able to find them in stock at 1010tires. I went to Goodyears web site and using the search bar I entered UPC 697662150039 and Goodyear PN 734-070-640, both gave me no results. I had to use the tireFinder to get to this page and I'm assuming it's correct because the Goodyear PN is in the URL.

At almost 22k miles I’m looking at replacements. I drive roughly 24k miles per year and live about 200 yards down a gravel/dirt road. I’ve never had a set of tires wear out this quickly but other than that I was pleased with them.

My nutty conspiracy is; Toyota does a lot of three year/30,000 or 36,000 mile leases. They spec their tires to require replacement at or before lease turn in.

Found this thread because my 21 OR hit 23,000 miles and needed new tires. I had the original Kelvar Adventures and the dealership wanted to install the Territory ATs with the aggressive sidewall.

I asked the guy why I'd want to stay with Goodyear after getting only 23k on the Adventures and he confirmed that the OEM tires have a softer compound for a smoother ride and that the replacement Territories would have a harder compound.

Sure it was just a Toyota tech saying that, but it makes sense that they want to make you think you have a better ride early on in ownership.
