Anyone used the front runner quick release mounts on a prinsu top rack? Looking for something easier to mount and take off of my shell but couldn’t seem to find anyone who has used this solution.

Really nothing? Specifically the rack for the shell? Not for the cab rack. I have searched and haven't found much at all on these but they seem like decent options even though pricey.

Those quick release connectors would cost me $500 ish dollars here in Canada. I will stick with the long tedious process of attaching my tent. Otherwise looks like a great fast solution!!! Yeah, I know this post doesn't help you. Cheers

One of my buddies just bought a Prinsu rack with the Gen 2 Front Runner quick release mounts. The new version of the mounts need to be mounted on top due to the design. I’ll post additional pictures of how we made it possible. All you need is eight (8) “1/4-20 standard T-Nut & 1/2” screws” (plus washers). The cost $4 + $5 shipping. Stay tuned.

G3T3 Lost; did it all work out. I have the Prinsu 3/4 Roof Rack on my 4Runner and wanted to know if you got it to work with the Front Runner Quick Release Mount? Thank.

After mounting my smittybuilt gen 2 RTT directly to the Prinsu rack (Huge pain in the A**), I have been researching this topic vigorously. Prinsu's quick release mounts are $300... Even their standard mounts are $150... So, I ordered these front runner quick release mounts ($150) - If I can get them to work with upgraded hardware I will be sure to post here!

Side Note: I am rather disappointed with my Prinsu rack - primarily because all the add ons are sooooo expensive. 2x the competition. If i could go back, I would have ordered the FrontRunner Rack.

    ***UPDATE***
Got it to work with 1/4-20 3/4" Bolts - I did have to lightly shave down 2 sides of the Bolt Heads to slide them into the Prinsu Slots.

A better solution would be to by T-Nuts that match the Aluminum Extrusions - However the first set that I bought did not fit... I was unable to find the exact size for the Prinsu Crossbars.

I would say I am extremely impressed with the quality and design of the Frontrunner Quick Release mounts - compared to the price of the Prinsu version, it's a no brainer.

(Please note that Front Runner changed the design of the mounts from the beginning of this thread - the ones I have were purchased in August and mount to a single crossbar, as opposed to bridging across 2.
They sell a 4 piece and a 6 Piece kit - I only required a 4 Piece for my Smittbilt Gen 2 RTT)

    Hope this helps :)
