Do you have any recommendations on a local shop that could replace the bearing on my passenger rear axle?

I already have the axle assembly removed.

Pretty much any automotive shop would do that.

You have the 10-speed auto, right? If so, yeah, it's strange how some have problems and some don't. My work truck has almost 180k miles, a good number of them haven't been easy. It has hard shifted a bit since brand new but has otherwise run flawlessly. Of our whole fleet, I only know of one truck that's had issues (area manager, doesn't get a lot of abuse), and he's on his second or third gearbox with under 70k on the truck.

ya 10r80 and ya it is odd it only seems to be the rangers so i wonder if they changed something in them and thats what caused this since the larger trucks and vans have no issues... its only the rangers that are failing. from what others have said on the forums and another dealer i talked to whats failing is the clutch pack or the balancer or something else i cant remember what it was called.. atm my dealer thinks its the clutch pack failing.

unsure how true it is but someone stated this trans was a product of ford and chevy and when it was in the chevys it was awful then ford reworked it and it was great in the larger vehicles but once they put it in the ranger its had flaws...

The one truck with two replacement transmissions I mentioned earlier is an F250. Hadn't heard if any specific models were experiencing more failures than other, but also haven't been paying attention.

Nice thing with mine being a work vehicle: when it has issues I take it in and don't concern myself much beyond that. If the company wants to keep repairing it, fine. If not, they'll issue me something else.

haha thats true! wish that was the case but sadly nope i bought it haha

ya no lol i cant afford a 50k+ truck nor do i want to anymore... id buy a used 10th gen si again if i could justify the price gauge and high miles! hell id find a clean rsx type s and buy that and have no loan but its just not a thing around here so im gonna get the new si and pay it down and have no loan then look for an old tundra or something to just tow with in a few years
