yes, I am aware I may be pretardo

but actually I think 2 sticks of 1.75 .25 wall and 3 sticks of 1.75 .125 would get me pretty far...

maybe 3 more sticks to put a light cage in?

    Welding is relaxing

It's the measuring multiple times and cutting that sucks nuts

I went with a Woodward Fab Manual Bender & built a SWAG offroad air over hydraulic ram mount, not a bad way to do it.

I didn't do any cutting

Nor did I do any measuring :bananadead:

I was there to uninstall a bunch of stuff and that went fairly quick; bed rack, bumper, bed, fuel tank, etc.

But I guess he already had measured/marked what to cut, measuring from a known point on the frame towards the front, back to the rear that was notched. Some 152" or so?

Which leads me to ask, for my own knowledge...the frenching of the frame serves what purpose over just welding them directly to the frame?

Having the bed off at that point would've led me to bobbing the rear as well.

Sucks it would've been dealt with right away with a plasma cutter and hand torch.

There's actually a full set of plans to make your own bender, and it uses the jd fab die set. Probably as cheap as one could go before buying your own while still having a worthy setup.

Not frenching adds height that you can't decrease. You add no height over stock mounts locations with a frenched mount unless you change springs... Building in height can be annoying because it is hard to get rid off but relatively easy to add. Less to hang up on rocks too. I did mine with an angle grinder and they were exact fit, it's the right tool for the job. I just thought maybe a measurement got flubbed or something and they had to be shifted.

Was literally held here by friction, pushed up with my hand it fit entirely, no out of the ordinary gaps.
