    yeah....

now that I have the table I would consider building a bender.... but all these tools are what have me thinking hard about building a replacement frame, mostly because theres no good way to package shocks/coilover in the rear without a back half

^I have recently changed my opinion here

ok this IS true, but then you tie up a TON of useable space for that travel.

    Fuel/water/air all fits in there

I guess I prefer having bed space for those versus a jungle gym with mounted tanks? I also don't carry an air tank, cause like why?

I'm sure it has it's uses, I'm pretty stingy when it comes to added weight on a wheeling vehicle. If I think I can do without comfortably, then I do without.

That's ideally what was supposed to happen, and the initial cut out was about 1/4" too small for the mount to fit in.

That's when the measurement was brought out from that known point towards the back and that revealed that the front part needed cutting out which resulted in too big of an opening :bananadead:

I helped to weld one side of a reinforcement (you can tell what welds are mine lol) but that hood was not helping. Kept flashing on and off without arc and got darker than it was set for when I did weld.

Should've brought my hood but didn't know we would've been welding anything that day.

Dude, you have a larger table than I do and I already make vehicle parts.

Would be easier for you to draw and replace plenty of stuff on your truck.

Seeing what was involved, I wouldn't mind having to do a 63 leaf spring swap at my house in the driveway.

Definitely not, not to mention there's so much room to do whatever you need with the bed off.

Frame reinforcing and patching up rusted frames would be super easy.

Guess I'm just thinking out loud about what I'd offer to do if the need were to present itself out here.

Then again most people here are cheap AF :bananadead:

I have better paying customers on this very forum than locally (for Tacoma stuff).

I wouldn't do the frame stuff unless you have lots of free time, taking apart rusty trucks is a nightmare and getting all the rot removed and recoating the inside of the frame is costly in time. Just tossing patch panels on is easy but doing it all right is time consuming.

Eh you make a good point, didn't think about that.

I hate rust; us Californians aren't used to it

Yeah rust is unfun, thankfully fairly uncommon here, my truck spent it's first 5 years on earth in PA.

Flashback to the tiny ass garage setup where the truck was only good as decoration

I should ask for pics (think I will) but I made another set of Sequoia rear arm mounts yesterday for a rig that's rusted out.

First shipment to Rhode Island and I hate to be the mechanic working on that rig from the sound of it.

Yeah, toyota usually uses 11ga or similar in mm and if that rusted out makes ya wonder what the hell they'll be welding your new part to.

I make a lot of vehicle parts for myself lol.

I have too many projects/hobbies and not enough time to take another crack at a side business tho.
